This is a popular lunch pick-up spot for all the workers around this area and it's going to be packed and hectic. People line up, and order what they want, and get out. If you go in here intending to leisurely browse, you're going to have a bad time. The store staff might be patient, but the other customers aren't gonna be. They got to eat and go back to work. So have a plan in mind before going in. I'm sure they got other items on the menu, but just order a karaage (fried chicken) or tonkatsu (port cutlet) if it's your first time. I'm not actually sure if this place has tonkatsu but come on, every bentou place has those two. It's like a roadside diner not having BLT and hamburger. We ordered 2 karaage and they were delicious. 550 yen a piece. You can't beat that.
View on GoogleFound this place from a Paolo from Tokyo video on YouTube. Two words I would use to describe the food here: cheap and huge. Don’t let the price tag or portion size fool you, you can tell the amount of labor and love that goes into making these bentos. The long line up of local Japanese salesmen/salarywomen at lunch time shows how popular this place is. Although they did not speak English, I pointed to a bento that someone before me ordered and it was delicious and helped fuelled the rest of my day exploring Tokyo. Although I had my lunch an hour after getting it, I noticed the following: - The shrimp tempura was huge, delicious and still crunchy - The sausages were ok - The pork katsu was well seasoned and still crunchy - There were some pickled mackerel with some vegetables which on inspection didn’t look appetizing but tasted really good without the fishy or strong vinegar smell - Everything else was well cooked and seasoned I recommend coming to this place if you want a change from the konbini and franchised places in Tokyo but come HUNGRY!
View on GoogleThe ultimate bento experience in Tokyo : daily changing menu, delicious dishes, the staff is friendly, the prices are incredibly reasonable... there isn't a single fault to be found. The best bento in the city !
View on GoogleAmazing bento boxes! I had the fish special (mackerel) and the rest of the family had the karaage chicken bento. I also got a side of eggplant and the owner was kind enough to give the kids jelly. Also these bentos are also a steal for 500 yen
View on GoogleI got 700yen higawari. Japanese style bento, but nothing really special.
