Soba noodle shop

Enjoy thoughtfully chosen snacks and local sake, then finish with soba. This refined tradition of drinking at soba shops has been rooted in everyday life since the Edo period. Back then, slurping soba was described as “drawing in soba,” and it is said that people found elegance even in the way they ate. Just as in that refined era when soba shops symbolized the everyday culture of ordinary people, please enjoy the food culture of drinks, snacks, and soba to finish at 川上庵.

★★★★★ A wonderful place for anyone who appreciates authentic Japanese cuisine. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, and the tempura was light and perfectly crispy. A thoughtful touch was that it came with warm plates, keeping the tempura hot until the very last bite. The highlight of the evening was the best soba I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked, with an amazing buckwheat aroma, wonderful texture, and exceptional flavor. Friendly and attentive service, an excellent selection of sake, and an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Beautiful restaurant, very cozy and quiet. Food was outstanding although it is a bit pricier than normal soba restaurants (portions are also not too big) I got the cold soba 天せいれ, Delicious! Would recommend :)

A little hidden away from the main crowded street, this stylish soba and Japanese cuisine restaurant is a true gem. Everything we ordered was beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and presented with care. The service and atmosphere were outstanding, and they even offer an English menu. Both the cold and warm soba were excellent, especially paired with tempura and fresh vegetables. All the appetizers and side dishes were equally delicious. We highly recommend this place!

One of the best ducks I've ever had. Soba was really good too. They have seats outside but the inside has a better atmosphere.
