First time trying Akita's hotpot . Its a very healthy feeling and it's best eaten in rainy day
View on GoogleI love novelty and this place didn’t disappoint with the newness of its experience. I think they specialize in ingredients from a certain region of Japan. Everything tasted so unique and different. Like one of the little seaweed side dishes was incredibly slimy like natto, but I liked it. Only thing was portion sizes felt a tad small for the price.
View on GoogleEDIT: Several years ago, I rated this place 4/5 stars. After coming here 3 more times, every time I've visited Japan since, I've come to terms that I love this place. Original review as follows. Food is pricy. Decent food, but pricy. Small store up front with various foodstuffs, alcohol selection off to the side, and the restaurant in the back. No English speakers, but easy enough to get a seat at the restaurant. Ordering is done from a tablet. Again, no English menu, but that's where Google Translate comes in.
View on GoogleSuper cute little place! We split the special Kiritampo Smashed rice sticks hotpot (serving for 2). It was yummy and plenty for us two. Also had the Red Perilla soda and Bi no Kuni ice cream. So good! They were very kind to us. No english speaking server but that didn’t deter us from having a yummy dinner and good service. We saw a lot of locals in the dining area so if you want something different from super touristy places give this a try. The shop is also very cool with nice items for gifts to bring home.
View on GoogleFood is good. But the young female server was so rude. She was literally yelling at us because we were not good at japanese. I've never seen a person in my life. It was unique experience though :)
