If you happen to be in the area. And do not speak japanese. They have a very cool white binder with pictures of all the items on the menu. And the old man making the yakitori. Made us feel very welcome. We will come back. Arigatou Gozaimasu

View on GoogleLocated a little away from the bustle of Akasaka, 「鳥通」 is a true urban hideaway. Step through the noren curtain and you'll find a calm, old-fashioned atmosphere. Its unpretentious setting lets you relax and enjoy your meal without any formality. The yakitori is made with fresh chicken, carefully threaded onto skewers and slowly grilled over charcoal. The fragrant aroma whets your appetite. Alongside the classic cuts, they offer rarer parts too, all grilled just right. The rich chicken flavor spreading through your mouth is a moment of pure bliss. And the most welcome thing of all is the value for money. Despite its Akasaka location, you can enjoy delicious yakitori at reasonable prices. There's also a wide selection of drinks, which pair wonderfully with the yakitori. You might even find yourself drinking a little too much. 「鳥通」 is a place to visit when you want to forget the bustle of daily life and unwind. Enjoying delicious yakitori and drinks here will surely refresh both body and mind. Do give it a try.
View on GoogleSeriously, this place was a gem. Everything tastes great. The tomato Hoppy is shockingly delicious.
View on GoogleAn izakaya a 2-minute walk from Tameike-Sanno and also within walking distance of Akasaka Station. It's a street-level place, so it's easy to find. The exterior looks like the quintessential izakaya, and the interior is exactly the same. The menu focuses on classic yakitori, making it feel like a traditional yakitori izakaya too. Neither the drinks nor the food are particularly cheap! But the prices are fairly reasonable. The clientele seems to be mostly office workers. Here's what I ordered this time. ■Draft beer(630円) Beer really is the best fit for this kind of atmosphere. ■Squid legs grilled with innards(550円) Now this is a grown-up flavor. Perfect with a drink. ■Toriwasa(770円) Since chicken is the restaurant's specialty, the toriwasa is fresh. Perhaps a little pricey. ■Yakitori course(1,100円) A good-value 5-skewer set with kashiwa, gizzard, tsukune, liver, skin, and soup. There's also a 7-skewer set(1,750円), by the way. So I enjoyed a meal centered on their main specialty, yakitori. Honestly, it wasn't something that made me think, this was absolutely amazing! ...but the atmosphere is oddly relaxing, and I can see myself ending up there again.
