Akasaka Hisano," a Japanese restaurant in Akasaka, is memorable for the calm space that opens up after you descend the stairs to the basement. Unlike the bustling streets outside, once you step inside there's a relaxed Japanese atmosphere that naturally makes you sit up straight. It's the perfect spot when you want to leisurely enjoy Japanese food in the Akasaka area. That day I mainly ordered classic Japanese dishes. The carefully plated food was beautiful from the moment I saw it, and with each bite the umami of the ingredients slowly spread. The impression of Japanese food changes greatly depending on how the dashi is made, and here the flavor profile was gentle, with well-balanced seasoning that brought out the quality of the ingredients, which left a strong impression. The service was calm and pleasant too, and being able to enjoy your meal in a quiet space is another appeal. A warm restaurant I'd like to visit again on days when I want to leisurely savor Japanese food in Akasaka.

Weekday lunch visit. A hidden-gem Japanese izakaya inside a building near Akasaka Station. This time, drawn in by the menu, I ordered the trademark-pending King Extra-Thick Sardine Set Meal (1,200円). The sardine that came out was, true to its name, extra thick and incomparably bigger than the sardines I usually eat★ The skin was grilled crispy and the flesh was plump, with strong umami and perfect saltiness, so I even got a rice refill^^

I had the lunch menu's wild tuna two-kind tasting set meal. Both the sashimi and the side dish were carefully made and delicious. At dinner time it's a high-end restaurant

I had the "Wild Tuna Two-Kind Tasting Set Meal" for lunch at Akasaka Hisano. The quiet, calm interior is a space where you can enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace. The main tuna had clearly distinguishable cuts, and both the texture and flavor were refinement itself. The freshness goes without saying, and you could tell it was carefully prepared. From the rice and miso soup to the small side dishes, no corners were cut. Being able to enjoy this quality at this price in Akasaka is pretty rare. At night it's a high-end restaurant, so being able to enjoy high-end flavors at such a low price at lunch is amazing!! Recommended! Strongly recommended! The perfect spot for days when you want to treat yourself a little from midday. Definitely coming back!

For lunch in Akasaka, I figured it'd be nice to wander around once in a while and drop into whatever place caught my fancy, and this is the restaurant I ended up at. I only looked at the lunch sign, saving the details as a surprise for after going in. I suppose it's a kappo restaurant. Even at lunch they bring out a proper appetizer (tsukidashi), which is classy. Rice and miso soup are self-serve, but the miso soup has plenty of ingredients and is tasty. The rice was a bit on the firm side, which was a slight shame.
