My fav museum in Tokyo so far! It is a free museum that provides informative exhibition about advertising, design illustration and creative industry since old eras in Japan. They provide interactive experiences with amazing design and illustration. There is a library on the second floor and another exhibition about tea tags, matches design, and other things. They have English language display too which issvery helpful. However, it is a bit confusing to go there.
View on GoogleLocated on B2F of Caretta Shiodome. Can be quite confusing to navigate. Just enter the mall and look for the signs. Free entrance, great to visit if you're around Shinbashi station or if you have just visited the NTV Ghibli clock. They have interactive displays. Though it's not spacious but the space utilization is very effective. The second floor is the library. The first floor is the exhibit and gift shop.
View on GoogleTLDR: FREE museum that has an awesome snapshot of history in advertising and also has tons of ads you can watch that are hilarious Not sure how anyone can give this place less than 5 stars for being a free museum in Tokyo that has beautiful displays, English and Japanese translations, and just a great layout and design that has something for everyone. Everything is well labeled, there are video screens to watch funny ads and so much more.
View on GoogleFree entry! Set aside at least an hour to properly go through everything. Exhibits are pretty interesting. There’s also a postcard stamp to collect throughout the museum.
View on GoogleWhat a great museum! Finally managed to visit and enjoyed it a lot. Nicely curated with information and videos in Japanese and English. You get a lot of background on advertisement in Japan throughout the time. Definitely check it out while in the area :-)
