Japanese breakfasts, tea pairings & dainty, multi-course meals at a designer venue with a zen feel.

Japan's rich food culture has gratefully embraced nature's gifts. Honoring tradition while innovating. This tea salon offers luxurious time away from the bustle of the great metropolis of Tokyo, a place to soothe body and mind and experience the meeting of old and new.

After trying to book a table here for nearly five years during my annual trips to Tokyo, I finally got lucky with a last-minute cancellation. It was worth every bit of the anticipation. The atmosphere is incredibly calm and meditative - a true escape from the city. The steamed vegetables with miso sauce were a highlight, but the real magic was watching the precise preparation of each dish. A must-visit for Asacha (朝茶, breakfast). Can't wait to return!

I had the Goshincha for afternoon tea here. This lovely restaurant is tucked away in suburban Tokyo. The natural landscaping and rock formations almost take you by surprise as you walk from Jiyuugaoka station - a little natural patch in a fairly suburban residential district. The experience is highly tea-centric, with little bites in between. Each tea is brewed in front of you in a mesmerising meditative process by your guide who tells you about each tea. I had a gyokuro, matcha and hojicha. The process of brewing is as valuable as drinking the tea itself. I would describe the experience as luxurious, exquisite and meditative. If you're coming expecting a big filling meal, you'll be sorely disappointed, hungry, and wired on all the tea caffeine on that empty stomach. The dishes are punchy and delicious, but few and small volume. A high recommendation for the tea-lover wanting to experience Japanese tea ceremony at it's most luxurious.

The food service was a bit slow, but it fit the zen vibe. We had a simple traditional Japanese breakfast with tea variants (Asacha breakfast), and I really enjoyed the unique experience. I did enjoy my non-alcoholic sake wagashi and matcha tea. This is a must-try!

what a beautiful experience! if you don’t like slow, gorgeous, tranquil mornings, maybe this isn’t for you… but it was like having breakfast in an art museum. was a privilege to watch the staff prepare and serve the food.

We booked breakfast at Yakumo Saryō and it was truly an elegant and pleasant experience. The location is beautiful, extremely well curated, and perfectly in harmony with the atmosphere of the place. The staff was welcoming, professional, and very attentive throughout the experience. We had requested a vegetarian alternative in advance during the reservation process, and we were very pleased to see our request accommodated with such care and kindness. Thank you for this refined and authentic experience.
