Very good museum! Excellent curation and huge collection. Option for single exhibition tickets of ¥700 or combined in any way with other exhibitions. The staff are very nice and spoke English which surprised me. The café had delicious food and a vegetarian option which I was grateful for, I would come back here. The library also had the books of the photographers featured, so you could see the whole collection, I loved that.
View on GoogleGreat museum. Really small. But the tickets are fairly priced. The basement gallery rotates and is usually free
View on GoogleGreat museum which is very well curated. The selection of photography on display is excellent. There is a wide selection of both domestic and international photography on display. The gift shop was fantastic with a great range of photobooks on sale

View on GoogleWent there yesterday to watch a movie from Kumamoto titled "Boneless lantern." It is one of the most beautiful films I have ever watched. The film will help you understand what happens when we grieve for our loved ones - the pain and the beauty of its all. It also portray th beauty of community, something that is increasingly rare in the city life nowadays. The ticket costs 2,000 yen for adult. The film provide English, Chinese, and French subtitles depending on the showtime, which is available in the museum's website. It will be screened until 22 June. The museum shop on the second floor is wonderful with creative items. I bought many gifts and postcards with joy. Would love to come again the next time I visit Japan.
