I love their lunch meals. Inexpensive, delicious, and good portion. The shop keeper is silent and calm, but a good person.

A yakiniku restaurant located fairly deep into the shopping street from Ōokayama Station. When you enter, there's a Showa-era atmosphere in the air I read that the Mizushima set was good, so I ordered the Mizushima set and some other snacks Reviews said it was good value, but the bill didn't feel that way. It's not expensive, though. It's tasty, but the atmosphere is somehow dark so it's probably not suited for dates; solo? I think it's good for families. Thank you for the meal

When I go to good restaurants, I usually learn about them in advance from magazines or TV, but my encounter with Mizushima was finding it by chance while strolling around Ōokayama. The Showa-era yakiniku restaurant vibe coming from the exterior, and the smoke and smell drifting out from inside, whetted my appetite and made a person who just happened to be strolling by (me) resolve to definitely come in soon. Looking at other people's reviews, the lunch seems highly rated, but I've never gone for lunch so I can't say. At night, it's simply a great restaurant. When I dug into the places I keep going back to, I realized the key is “value for money.” Mizushima is in my personal BEST5 of places I want to keep going back to. The low prices are attractive too, but for me, a lover of lean meat, the meat here hits the spot. The inside is by no means spacious and there are few staff; it's a cozy little place, not an environment where you can relax and eat at leisure, but the food is so good that I keep coming back. Even I, who don't like kalbi (because it's greasy), thought the Showa kalbi was delicious. Here's what I always order: Salted tongue Loin Harami Showa kalbi Horumon Kalbi soup It's located around where the shopping street ends from Ōokayama Station, and being a bit out of the way gives it a hidden-gem feel ◎ The chairs and tables aren't the kind you can stay at for long, so drinkers might get tired, but for me as a non-drinker it's no problem. A great neighborhood yakiniku place I hope will keep going forever.

What's the category, anyway. Korean? Yakiniku? Or perhaps creative cuisine? I guess it's closest if you imagine a beef plate with a strong hit of sesame oil, or gyudon. I do think it's tasty. But I can't shake the feeling that the red-capped seasoning is in every dish. Maybe it was just a coincidence. It's my constitution, but when the red cap gets into my body, I get a peculiar headache. Hmm, I'm beat. Laters, Aishuu...

The price wasn't that high and it was just plain delicious. The premium kalbi was outstanding — you've absolutely got to try it. The cold noodles to finish were super tasty too. I'll come again!
