First off, this is a standing shop right infront of the street so there is limited space. Eating while standing at street level takes a little bit of getting used to. The curry was fantastic! It comes in a big bowl with some pickled veges on the side and onions. There is also a side of mash potato that also helps to alleviate the spice. Everything just blends well together and the spiciness is good.

View on GoogleI wondered whether the name came from masala, and although there are other spice curry shops nearby, I chose this one. Based on the reviews, I chose 魔皿カレー at the yellow spice level. It was spicier than I expected, so I ate it while mellowing it out with the potatoes. I asked for less rice, but with the heat, it felt like the rice disappeared straight away. It wasn't just spicy; it had plenty of savory flavor, so I kept taking bites and finished it in no time. Next time I'll have the dry curry, with yellow spiciness again. ---------- Unexpectedly, my second visit within one week. This time I had the dry curry at the yellow spice level. I added an egg topping because I'd been curious about it. Apparently Fridays have yellow rice. Last time I asked for less rice and it disappeared quickly, so this time I asked for the normal portion. It's the same yellow level, but the dry curry might be less spicy than 魔皿カレー… With the egg this time, there were more ways to vary the flavor, making it even more fun. Is this egg LL size? It's enormous. The dry curry feels like it uses spices very generously. Loads and loads of meat. I'm glad I got the normal amount of rice. Both 魔皿カレー and the dry curry are definitely delicious. Since I like the slightly stock-like soup of the keema curry, I personally might prefer 魔皿カレー. People start queuing after 12:00, but there's absolutely no unpleasant pressure to eat quickly. The aroma of spices made for a happy lunch. Thank you for the meal!
View on GoogleFor lunch, I went to "魔皿カレー" in Nakameguro. You buy a meal ticket from the machine at the storefront. This time I had the less spicy "白 マイルドカレー" (1,050円). It's a compact standing-only restaurant, but the food arrives extremely quickly after ordering. With its fast turnover, it's very convenient for a quick meal when lunchtime is limited. The dish had a thin curry sauce with chopped green onions and minced meat, while the rice was topped with an array of colorful ingredients such as cabbage, cucumber, and onion achar, and mashed potatoes. True to its mild description, "白" has a gentle flavor without sharp edges, with balanced spice notes spreading throughout. Mixing everything together as instructed creates changes in texture and acidity, keeping it enjoyable to the last bite. The rice, made with Haenuki from Yamagata Prefecture, was cooked just right, and even the regular portion was plenty. A good restaurant where you can easily enjoy highly satisfying spice curry. Thank you for the meal.
