Famous scenic spot but in reality feels a bit empty and artificial
View on GoogleA Quirky Surprise in Jiyugaoka Tucked away in the laid-back neighbourhood of Jiyugaoka, La Vita is one of those places that completely catches you off guard. It looks nothing like the rest of Tokyo. Instead, it feels like someone lifted a slice of a European town and dropped it right here in suburban Japan. With its Venetian-style canal, stone bridge, and pastel Italian-inspired buildings, La Vita makes for a fun, photogenic stop. It is a small complex, but the charm lies in its unexpectedness. You’ll find boutiques, a salon or two, and little corners that make for great photos. It is quiet, a bit whimsical, and perfect for a relaxed stroll or an impromptu photoshoot. We stopped by without planning to, and it ended up being one of the most memorable little detours of the day. Definitely worth checking out if you’re already in the area or looking for something different from the usual Tokyo cityscape. Just don’t expect a full-on shopping experience. Come for the vibes, the visuals, and the curiosity of seeing Tokyo with a little European twist.
View on GoogleJiyugaoka is the little Europe of Tokyo. In this area, architecture is a little more European. Likes with many little shops and eateries that makes you feel you are no longer in Tokyo.
View on GoogleWhile i love jiyugaoka , this place is REALLY TINY . It look like a prop set used in movie . Its a couple tiny shops nothing to rave about. yes the architecture looks exactly like italy .Sadly the property has sign you cannot take private pictures inside. I feel bad for the business around since pictures would help promote their business . I understand they don't want hoards of tourists coming and ruining this place or damaging it but its a shame . By 8pm the gates were closed . There is a small gate at the entrance of you want to walk through the tiny bridge make sure to go early . Everything is beautiful and very well done but not much to do around and the shops have zero connection to italy . Yes the gondola and bridge look like venice however unlike venice or vegas the gondola is useless . Dont bother making a special trip for this you will be done 1-2 min max .
View on GoogleThe group of buildings/shops? I doubt it, in any case there was nothing that looked like an active open business, around the unmaintained puddle of water surprisingly neglected and desolated, given the dramatic difference compared to the entire charming neighborhood it is located in. Don't bother walking even a few blocks to this area, there is no way the high recommendations that have been registered for it are recent.
