The mackerel is thick, and the vinegared rice is just right too. If you add them as a friend on LINE, you get 100 yen off the saba sushi. Also, you earn 1 point for every 1000 yen, and when you collect 15 points you get a free saba sushi. It's a bit pricey but it was delicious, so next time I'd like to try buying the miso saba sushi.
View on GoogleThe mackerel is from Norway, and the price is a bit high. Each piece of warabi mochi is big and a little sweet. Good for eating on the spot, but as a substitute for a bento, I'm not so sure.
View on GoogleOpened July 2021. It seems to be a shop from Kyoto that has expanded into the Kanto region, selling saba-zushi (mackerel sushi) and Japanese sweets like warabi mochi. I spotted it while passing by and got the warabi mochi half-half (small, 600 yen). “Warabi Mochi Kinako” Warabi mochi with a soft, fluffy texture and modest sweetness. The kinako has no sugar either, so you can really taste the simple flavor of the warabi mochi. “Warabi Mochi Matcha Uguisu” A slightly bitter warabi mochi with matcha kneaded in. It's dusted with unsweetened matcha kinako, so you can enjoy THE matcha flavor — a grown-up kind of deliciousness. I think it's delicious warabi mochi that brings out the flavor of the ingredients. Both are lightly sweetened, so people with a sweet tooth might find them a bit lacking. When I opened it at home, the kinako wasn't as generous as in the store display sample, which was a little disappointing, so I'm giving it ★3.
View on GoogleThey had a stand at Ogikubo Station, and I've had it 3 times! I thought the grilled one was the best, but the grilled miso blew me away! It goes great with sake ☺️🌸 Next time I'll check out the Takaido one too! (Update) At Takaido Station, not many people cross Kanpachi, so I never noticed it until now. If this shop were inside the station, it'd be 10 times better known and could've boosted sales a lot, so it's a shame. If possible, even just a pop-up would be fine — I'd really love for them to open near the Takaido ticket gates.
View on GoogleIt was delicious saba-zushi. Next time I'd like to try the other kinds too.
