View on GoogleA museum that opened in 2011, in the Tokyo Tech era. Arts and crafts (ceramic works) by Kanjiro Kawai and Shoji Hamada are on display. It made me realize that ceramics used to be an industry studied at universities. Many modern production machines are on display, but I couldn't tell the intent of the exhibits and was confused. By viewing the website via QR code, I could read explanations about the machines. There's also an exhibition room explaining the university's history, but the exhibits are mismatched and I couldn't grasp the overall story, which is a bit of a shame. I was also interested in Kazuo Shinohara's architecture, but although architectural models and sketches are on display, I couldn't enter the room on the top floor that looks like a cylinder split in two, and I didn't understand the intent of that either. Still, the Tokyo Tech campus is just right for a stroll, and there are cafeterias and cafés the general public can use, so I think it's not bad.
