I wanted to like the place and like everyone else in Japan the service isn’t bad. However, a couple of notable issues have to be mentioned : firstly, our salad contain a small insect and when we told the staff about this, we did get an apology and an offer for them to replace the salad with another salad, but nothing more. Also, no apology when we paid the check. In addition, the portions are not very large and lastly the outdoor seating is very disappointing from an atmosphere perspective.

I'd been looking forward to this place because it was so hard to get a reservation. It's a casual Italian cafe inside Meguro Gajoen. Lunch is 1980円. You can add ➕ dessert and a drink. It comes to about 3500円 per person including the service charge. The interior was renovated just last year and looks lovely, and being a hotel cafe restaurant, it raised my expectations. But… The salad came immediately after we ordered, then the pasta arrived when we'd barely eaten any of it,, The guests at the table diagonally ahead were still drinking their pre-meal wine, yet their salad and pasta arrived almost together. Infuriating. I thought, is this a hotel?! Even my husband, who normally says nothing, was surprised. When booking, I was told tables turn over every 2 hours, so I thought we'd have 90 minutes to relax, yet we finished eating 20 minutes after sitting down… I was appalled, so I politely asked, "Please take your time with the coffee and dessert," but we were still hurried along once. As you can see in the photos, it was a weekday, so the place wasn't crowded. I never want to go again. The pasta was fairly strongly seasoned and average. The dessert was underwhelming too… With the service charge, I didn't think it was worth this price. Yet when I first entered, I could see greenery and really liked the atmosphere. I'm not usually this harsh, but this lunch put me in a bad mood. The woman who handled the reservation call was kind and polite, and my previous experience at another restaurant was good, so it's a shame. Also, I'd like the staff to stop rushing around inside, as it makes it hard to relax.

I had the lunch bundled with admission to Hyakudan Kaidan. The restaurant and cafe share the same name, which was confusing and left me lost, but it turned out to be near the convenience store on the 3rd floor. The food was delicious, and I finished it quickly.

Despite being in the city center, I enjoyed lunch from the following package while looking out at lush greenery. “Wa no Akari × Hyakudan Kaidan 2025 ~Hyakki Ryoran~” admission ticket × pasta lunch set I could choose my pasta and spend some relaxing time.
