The udon broth has a nice dried sardine flavor and is delicious.

At lunch just after the new opening. I got the impression that the person in the kitchen started without any food and beverage experience. It wasn't that crowded, but the service was slow and they were scolded by another staff member. Also, the udon wasn't to my taste. It seems it becomes an izakaya at night. The people at the shop seem nice, so I think I'll try again at night someday.

At night it's an izakaya mainly serving udon and soba, but it's non-smoking inside🚭️. It's too painful for a place that serves alcohol to be non-smoking. Smokers probably won't go, so wouldn't that be a loss for the business😂 because drinkers like to smoke🚬.

2025.11.08 Yesterday, today, and tomorrow my son has a school festival. I helped with the transport as he needed additional supplies brought in, and lunchtime arrived for me, Kitani, back home. For today's solo lunch, I decided to try the lunch service at 'Musuido', an udon/soba-style izakaya that recently opened near my house. The location is in front of 'Maguro Maji', where the Yamazaki branch of Fukueiro used to be. This time, I, Kitani, decided to have Kake Udon (400 yen including tax) topped with Kakiage (180 yen including tax) and a raw egg (80 yen including tax). It arrived in less than 2 minutes. The noodles don't seem to be homemade. The quantity is also a bit small. I thought for a moment if I should have ordered the large portion (100 yen including tax)... The broth is a sweet, salty, and thick Kanto style, and this broth goes well with the vegetable-based Kakiage which has a slightly thick batter. If you call it home-style Kakiage, it is, but somehow it's delicious. If anything, for me, two Kakiage would seem to give higher satisfaction than a large udon... that's the kind of Kakiage it was. Musuido's layout is a 6-seat counter, two 4-seat tables, and one 2-seat table. Lunch seems to be run by a couple and a helper, 3 people in total. The izakaya menu also feels like a lineup for casual drinking with friends, but it has an atmosphere that seems to offer daily specials too. Maybe I'll consider doing a night reconnaissance...
