I had the smoked chashu ramen. It's like a rich iekei ramen; I didn't order it this time, but it's a ramen that goes well with rice. You can taste the smokiness in the chashu, and it's delicious. The soup is good, and the noodles are tasty too. The nori felt a little thinner than at other shops. As the reviews said, both staff members were foreigners, but there was nothing to complain about and I thought the service was pleasant. There's a good selection of condiments on the table, so I enjoyed it to the last bite while changing up the flavor. Thanks for the meal.

Ajitama ramen [firm noodles], rice I was craving iekei for the first time in a while, so this was my first visit! A brown soup that brings out the powerful umami of rich tonkotsu and the umami of a sharp soy sauce tare. Nonakaya's homemade medium-thick noodles are chewy and pair perfectly with the soup! The rare chashu is tender and nicely seasoned too! It came across as slightly too salty, but the vinegar on the table mellowed it out (lol) It was pretty tasty. The shop was run by two staff, a man and a woman.

The Odakyu Line was delayed and I missed the last train on the Yokohama Line, so since I'd be taking a taxi anyway, I searched for a nearby ramen shop open late at night, found this iekei ramen place, and went in. It was after the last train and full of customers on their way home from drinking. Two foreign staff were running the place and the food took quite a while to come out. Honestly, my impression was that the counter table was dirty, and the taste wasn't to my liking, so I don't think I'll be back. If you're going to eat here, I think it's better to walk a little further to Machida Shoten or Machidaya.

Nonakaya's 7th shop, opened last year at the south exit of Machida Station on the Odakyu Line. Its roots trace back to Taikiya-kei, which branched off from Shidaya. The medium-thick noodles, slightly thinner than elsewhere, and the gentle tonkotsu shoyu soup might be easy to eat even for iekei beginners. Rice is all-you-can-eat for 150 yen, so lots of young people were coming in. There are two things I think could be improved. First, maybe because it's the special (tokusei)? The heaping pile of green onions feels like it gets in the way. In iekei, where the flavor is relatively strong, poorly prepped green onions don't blend in well. So their grassy smell is more noticeable and seems to interfere with the soup. Second, the floor is super slippery. Maybe the rain made it worse, but it was as slippery as a freshly waxed floor. Well... all things considered, it's an appealing shop that fits in well with this area, so do pay it a visit.

To fill my stomach before drinking at a BAR, I stopped by Nonakaya, which recently opened in front of the station. First I ordered a bottle of beer at the ticket machine. It comes with a snack, which is a big plus. This time I went with the nori ajitama ramen, regular size. It seems there's a paid all-you-can-eat rice option. While I waited for my beer at the counter, the snack of chashu offcuts and the bottled beer arrived. I took a bite of the chashu. Oh, it's smoked chashu. The smoky flavor might divide opinions, but it makes porco drink more beer, so this works too. Since I was the first one in, the ramen arrived in about 5 minutes. The nori was a bit thin and had gone limp in the soup. Finished it off quickly. Thanks for the meal.
