There aren't many exhibits. It's only open during special exhibitions. The security guard at reception is unpleasant, flatly declaring, "If you go anywhere other than the museum, I'll report you." 2023/9/14

The museum of Tokyo Kasei Gakuin. There's no permanent exhibition; it's only open on weekdays during special exhibitions. There are quite a few clothing exhibits, so genre-wise I guess it's a crafts museum. There's only one exhibition room, so the volume is modest. The location is very hard to find. Google Maps directs you to the back gate, so ignore it and head to the main gate. This main gate entrance is at second-floor height. First, get an entry pass at the guard room to the left of the main gate. Next, enter the building on the left, and in the lobby there's a staircase going up. Go to the far end of the corridor between the stairs and the counter, go through the iron door, and there's a staircase going down to the first floor. Once you go down the stairs, the exhibition room is just ahead.

It was closed due to COVID, but I was specially granted permission to enter (this may have been a one-off, so if you want to visit, please inquire in advance). Though small, it displays things you won't find anywhere else. Besides the founder's achievements, there was an exhibition of graduation research. Designs blending textiles and Western clothing, and architectural proposals for regional cities (probably their hometowns), were interesting. There was also, in nutrition, the potential of cooked rice for sports nutrition intake, and club activities and required nutritional values, and in home economics, handmade craft ideas for children—there was a lot to learn from.
