天忠Tenchū
【2 minutes on foot from 町田駅】A restaurant specializing in soy sauce dishes, directly operated by 「岡直三郎商店」, founded in the seventh year of the Tenmei era. Savor the profound umami and differences of naturally brewed soy sauce made in wooden barrels for more than two hundred years. We offer various courses pairing carefully selected soy sauce with our signature 「焦がし醤油フォンデュ」, homemade roast beef, and fresh seafood delivered directly from 三浦三崎. The restaurant also has fully private rooms with a calm, mature atmosphere, suitable for a wide range of occasions including business entertaining, banquets, drinking gatherings, and Buddhist memorial services. Customers reserving kaiseki meals can also enjoy a generous unlimited-drinks plan with draft beer, sake, shochu, and more, making this a recommended choice for drinking gatherings in 町田. A Japanese-food izaka that values tradition…

I had never imagined shoyu fondue. It was delicious! Our meal included beef, pork, fish, and red konyaku, and they all worked well with the shoyu dashi. The shoyu ice cream we had for dessert was also surprisingly good. I highly recommend this restaurant!
View on GoogleI visited 「醤油料理 天忠」 for lunch, located along 旧町田街道, a 6〜7-minute walk from 町田駅🚶♂️➡️✨. It is directly operated by 「日本一しょうゆ」, which I had been curious about for a long time. Intrigued by their signature 「食べる醤油」, I ordered 「お昼御膳 魚のアラ炊き(1,600円)」🥢. From fries with soy sauce seasoning to buri and tuna heads and bones simmered in sweet soy sauce until fall-apart tender, and even the dessert 「醤油ようかん」, it really was soy sauce all the way!😳 There are 2 types of soy sauce on the table, 「濃口」 and 「再仕込」, so you can enjoy their different flavors with sashimi🐟. Best of all was 「食べる醤油」. The soy sauce's umami and toasty aroma were concentrated, and it was so delicious on warm rice that this alone could make me finish a whole bowl🤤❤️. Next time I'd also like to try the evening 「醤油フォンデュ」 and other dishes🙏✨!
View on GoogleEach dish takes center stage, enhanced by a supporting soy sauce suited to it. I enjoyed simmered tai head, wasabi stems pickled in soy sauce, duck grilled with yuzu kosho, tofu and jako salad, and more. It isn't the grilled miso of a soba restaurant, but the pickles from a soy sauce maker make a good accompaniment to drinks. Of course, non-drinkers, families, and visitors with children were enjoying themselves too. I think it is a good restaurant suitable for a wide range of occasions.
View on GoogleA restaurant that feels quite exclusive and intimidating! I visited for lunch. The prices are appropriate for that! Various side dishes are arranged in a jubako box. They are presented beautifully with colorful touches! It was a restaurant I'd like to visit for a celebration.
View on GoogleOctober 2023: dinner at a restaurant specializing in soy sauce, within walking distance of 町田駅. We could order the 7-dish 木桶 course even on the day itself. Each dish was carefully prepared, and you could tell how fresh the fish, vegetables, and meat were. The tempura's batter and frying were refined and just right, and the simmered and grilled dishes were well prepared too, exceeding expectations. The extra grilled wagyu we ordered was tender and delicious, with sweet fat. You can choose rice or udon, and when we chose cold udon, it was glossy, wonderfully chewy, and delicious, outstanding as if from a specialist restaurant😋 Every dish was delicious, so the drinks kept flowing too. Their own soy sauces and ponzu had distinctive qualities, and we enjoyed the differences. I'd seen this restaurant on various TV programs, but its calm service and sincerely prepared food left a very favorable impression. Having discovered how delicious their soy sauce is, I'd like to try 焦がし醤油フォンデュ next time. The only other customers were a group attending a Buddhist memorial gathering in a private room, so it was quiet. We could enjoy the food peacefully. There is a surface-level paid parking lot between the restaurant and 東横イン, and you can receive a parking discount voucher when paying.
