Really great museum. It has several floors so make sure to check it out. I just wished they had English translations. It was also a bit sad that we weren't allowed to take pics of several of the exhibits like the Samurai equipment. Overall a wonderful and fun experience
View on GoogleA very nice museum overall, worth a visit if in the area, but probably not as a sole trip out this direction from central Tokyo. The 2 story recreation of Oda Nobunaga's castle was very cool. The collection of swords, guns, armour and art were beautiful. It has a lot of historical information (if you can read it). As for negatives. Nothing is in English and you can't take pictures, so you can't really get translations going on your phone either (well you probably could, but be prepared for stares and probably to explain what you are doing). Plus at 1500yen it's not got a huge amount of stuff compared to some other museums and castles I have visited in Japan. It's also pretty far out of the way. For these negatives it loses a point. I know that sounds like lots of negatives, but the neat presentation, novelty of 2 floors of a castle being shown off inside a building and quality of displayed items earns the 4 stars.
View on GoogleVery nice place. Especially the original size castle top. A must see place but yet to be known.
View on GoogleThe exterior has a beautiful tortoise shell pattern. The lower part is marble with a pattern like an x-ray. It is a chic but conspicuous building with no windows. I am not much of a history buff, so the 4th floor was worth seeing. I took the elevator up to the 5th floor first and came down gradually, but I recommend that you watch and study the theater on the 2nd floor before going up. The explanations are well written and worth seeing, but I think that foreign tourists may come here in the future, so I would like to see the explanations written in English as well.
View on GoogleVery impressive collection of swords, armor, and documents related to Oda Nobunaga, including a 20 minute film and a life size recreation of the Tenshukaku of Azuchijou.
