free wifi and smoking area
View on GoogleA convenient cafe near 町田駅 when you want an inexpensive break. It was quite crowded around 12 on Saturday, but the interior is fairly spacious with 70 seats and standard spacing between them. Free Wi-Fi and power outlets make it easy to use for a solo break, meeting someone, or light work. The iced coffee has a somewhat pronounced bitterness and a clean finish. It's easy to drink, and considering the quantity, the price felt modest for the area around 町田駅. Service is polite and smooth even when busy. It's also rare to find seating where heated tobacco is allowed plus a smoking booth for regular cigarettes. With its prices, seating capacity, Wi-Fi, and smoking facilities, this was a handy cafe for settling down briefly in 町田. ・Access: about a 5-minute walk from 町田駅 on the 小田急線 ・Payment: credit cards not accepted; electronic money and QR code payments accepted ・Smoking: smoking seats for heated tobacco only, and a smoking booth for regular cigarettes ・Signature offerings: coffee, breakfast, sandwiches, cakes ・Reservations: not accepted ・Seating: 70 seats; counter, table, and sofa seating available; no private rooms ・Facilities: free Wi-Fi and power outlets ・Uses: solo visits, breaks, meeting someone, light work, breakfast ・Parking: no dedicated parking; nearby paid parking available ・Children: welcome ・Group size: suitable for individuals and small groups ・Price range: generally under 1,000円 for both lunch and evening ・Opening date: 2014年7月8日
View on GoogleA little way from 町田駅. It's right in front of 河合塾. From the outside, I wondered if it was an old coffee shop. It felt a little uninviting, but inside it was like a major chain coffee shop. Still, the prices seem more affordable than chain shops. There were also lots of people working on computers or studying. The receipt asked guests to limit their stay to 3 hours, but a sign inside said 120 minutes when crowded. There was a smoking room, but the nonsmoking area wasn't that smoky. There were 3 toilets, one of them women-only. Apparently refills used to be available at half price, but there was a notice saying the half-price refill service had ended. Even so, it was very comfortable, so I'd like to use it again when I come to 町田
View on GoogleStopped in to fill time before my next plans. As far as I remember, it was already a cafe 30 years ago. I feel it's been over 20 years since it became サンズカフェ. The interior is spacious, and I used to come here often to study for exams. No warnings about long stays, and there are power outlets. The sandwiches are from ぐーちょきぱん in 金森! 6 kinds of pasta, 10 hot drinks and 10 cold drinks, a simple menu. It's not stylish, but this kind of neighborhood cafe felt comforting. People reading alone or studying; on Saturday afternoon, it was quiet even though nearly full.
View on GoogleI had a Viennese coffee. It was topped with plenty of cream, which went nicely with the coffee's gentle bitterness and tasted delicious! The interior is spacious with lots of seats. Power outlets & free Wi-Fi were available. The smoking and nonsmoking areas are separated, so cigarette smoke didn't bother me and I had a comfortable time.
