There is a ramen shop in Machida that claims to be Takeoka-style, one of the three major ramens in Chiba. Although it's called Machida, it's in Yamazaki Danchi, so it's far from any station, but perhaps because the bus network is well-developed, it's convenient. The photo is Chashu-men. This chashu is exquisite, the melting pork belly is irresistible. It's so delicious that it's a waste that it's not more commercialized. Also, since it claims to be Takeoka-style, it shouldn't be using broth. And the noodles are dried noodles, but perhaps because of the broth from the chashu stew, the soup is very delicious and combined with the richness of the back fat, an indescribable taste spreads in the mouth. Like Hachioji ramen, chopped onions go well with this soy sauce soup. Only the nori looks old, so please forgive that. The owner seems to love fishing. I visited on a Saturday around 1:00 PM, and regular craftsmen were using it as an izakaya after a half-day of work and were drinking happily from the afternoon. Depending on whether you can handle this atmosphere, there is no doubt that it is a shop that could be even more prosperous.

Ramen 750 yen First visit. I studied beforehand that Chiba's Takeoka-style features a soup using boiled pork sauce and dried noodles. Saturday, June 2021, arrived around 12:40, 2 previous customers, 1 customer after. Verbal order, pay after eating. COVID measures include alcohol gel on the table to the right upon entry. Order arrived in about 7 minutes. The soup has fine back fat floating and is dark in color. When I drank it, it wasn't too salty, the pork broth and rounded soy sauce stood out and were quite delicious, but it didn't have much depth or lingering finish. The noodles are curly dried noodles like instant bag noodles and the finish is a bit soft. The quantity is small. Since it's my first time with Takeoka-style, I can't compare, but I thought there would be something about dried noodles. It felt like it just came out as is, a bit disappointing. The chashu is soft and soaked in sauce, good. The nori is large but thin and the flavor is weak. Chopped onions are refreshing and a good accent. Wakame is rare. Menma is average. If you change the taste with chili oil, ramen sauce, and chopped garlic, it gets more punchy and feels good. Finished eating in about 7 minutes. Although it was a fearful visit, the service was fine, and the ramen is also normally edible. Cost performance is lacking. Although it is a ramen shop, it feels like it also doubles as a local drinking spot next to the housing complex.

Finally made it to the shop on my list. First time for Takeoka-style. Tuesday Ramen Day Regular ramen 450 yen, seasoned egg 50 yen. It seems you can change the flavor but I wasn't asked. Jet-black soy sauce soup, thin curly noodles, onions, wakame, thin chashu, menma, roasted nori, a little bit of back fat. Since it's a service price, no complaints. Changing the flavor with the ramen sauce on the counter, did the aroma change?

I wanted to try Takeoka-style, and for 2 years now, If I have time, I drive my car fast to go! However, every time, just sighing... 'It's closed!' There's no sign of anyone. Even the nearby shops, the gas station staff Don't even remember it opening. If it is operating, I really want to try the ramen!

The only 'Takeoka-style Ramen' shop in Machida City. It is said that they use dried noodles just like in the Takeoka area of Futtsu City. The soup has a relatively sweet finish. According to the owner, 'I changed the arrangement a little from Takeoka and added back fat'. For chashu, you can choose between loin and belly. Since I'm an old guy, I personally recommend the loin... ( *・ω・)ノ
