桜梅桃李 鶴川香山園Sakura Yusuraume Sumomo Tsurukawa Kayama Sono
We will be opening 喫茶と割烹 桜梅桃李(おうばいとうり) on 2025年1月25日 inside 「町田市立香山園」, very close to 鶴川駅. We will serve dishes making use of ingredients from 町田市, alongside the garden’s lovely scenery. For lunch, we offer Japanese cuisine such as reasonably priced lunches featuring small dishes and our signature 土鍋飯 course. For dinner, we provide courses so that you can relax at your leisure. From month 3, we are also preparing to offer dinner options other than courses. We will also provide café service so you can enjoy the garden. コ… selected as a specialty of 町田

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We came here with our two children to celebrate our wedding anniversary a little early. We made a reservation in advance and arrived right when the restaurant opened, so it was still quiet and not crowded. There is no dedicated parking, so we used a nearby coin parking lot. It was raining that day, which made the short walk to the restaurant a little inconvenient. We were welcomed nicely by the staff when we arrived. The restaurant has a traditional Japanese tatami-style setting, so you need to remove your shoes at the entrance. There were no indoor slippers available, which would have been nice, especially on a rainy day. We ordered the special summer dinner course, and the food itself was excellent. Everything was nicely presented and tasted really good. The portions and quality were reasonable for the price, and we liked the traditional atmosphere of the restaurant. It was a nice setting for our anniversary dinner with the children. However, there was one issue that concerned us quite a lot. We informed the restaurant in advance that our daughter has a shrimp allergy, but they still served shrimp tempura as part of the meal. The staff later realized the mistake and replaced the dish, which we appreciated, but this is something that really should have been checked before the food reached our table. For us, an allergy request is not simply a preference or a small mistake with an order. It is a safety concern, especially when it involves a child. We specifically notified the restaurant beforehand so that her meal could be prepared safely. Thankfully, we noticed what was served and there was no incident, but I really hope the restaurant reviews how allergy information is communicated between the reservation, kitchen, and serving staff. This was the main reason I could not give our experience five stars. There were also a few smaller service issues. We weren’t given wet towels when we were seated, and the server only realized this and brought them when we were already in the middle of our meal. The server was friendly, although her hair and overall appearance looked a little untidy. I don’t mind a casual style, but considering the traditional setting and the type of dining experience, a slightly neater presentation would have made a better impression. Overall, we still enjoyed our anniversary dinner. The food was delicious, the restaurant had a nice atmosphere, and the price was reasonable for the quality and amount of food. I would consider coming back because we genuinely enjoyed the meal, but I would want to be confident that allergy information is being carefully checked before food is served. If they improve this part of the service, along with a few of the smaller details, this could easily be a five-star experience.
View on GoogleMar 8, 2026 Tasty and beautifully decorated food but over ¥20,000 for 2 people for a sirloin lunch course was a bit too expensive. ¥8,800 per head for food, plus we ordered 1 drink each. Very polite service and impeccably beautiful garden on a sunny day. Was so glad I got seated in the hallway as the tables inside were full but that was even better as the view into the garden was truly amazing. Popular local spot so was only able to get a table for 13:15 on a Sunday.
View on GoogleWe enjoyed a beautifully prepared dinner in a historic garden setting. Tucked inside a century-old building, the restaurant feels calm and refined, especially at night when the soft lighting creates a peaceful atmosphere. We tried the Hama Pork shabu-shabu and seasonal clay pot rice course. The pork was delicate and lightly sweet, becoming perfectly tender after just a few seconds in the broth. The clay pot rice was a highlight — fragrant steam rising as the lid opened, with distinct grains and a subtle crispness at the bottom. From appetizers to dessert, each dish was thoughtfully crafted without being overcomplicated. A warm and elegant place to enjoy a quiet, memorable meal.
View on GoogleThe building is very impressive. The garden is also beautifully maintained, but unfortunately it was rainy that day, so we could not walk around. The food and service…… the atmosphere of the building and garden tends to make you expect something luxurious, but that is not what you get. It feels worth the price when you include the atmosphere. Also, there is no parking. It is close to the station, but I thought a car drop-off area would be nice for elderly visitors.
View on GoogleThis restaurant is inside a lovely relocated building with more than 100 years of history. Its location is also convenient, a 4-minute walk from 鶴川駅 on 小田急線. For lunch, you can choose a main from 3 meat options or 3 fish options, and 9 appetizers are served on one plate. Dining inside this historic building makes for a wonderful moment. It gets quite busy even on weekdays, so I recommend booking.
