It’s an unassuming place near JR Machida Station. You get your ticket from the machine by cash, give it to one of the staff, and find an empty seat. We got their classic curry with tonkatsu, and the minced meat one. For ¥1000, you get your money’s worth. Sweet and savory curry, paired with the meat of your choice fried to perfection. No, the meat doesn’t get soggy. Keep in mind, this isn’t a fine dining restaurant. It’s just a place that serves really good food. If you’re sensitive with noises, another thing to take note of is you’re in a train station.
View on GoogleLarge portions are free on Tuesdays and Fridays. I had katsu curry. The cutlet was thin, but it was nice that it had been cut into bite-sized pieces. The curry sauce is sweet and spicy, with a heat level children can handle. If you don’t like sweetness, there was ichimi chili powder on the table. The shop looks like a converted interior of a pachinko parlor and is small and cramped, but the turnover is quick, so it doesn’t bother me.
View on Google日乃屋カレー町田店 is a curry specialty shop near Machida Station that’s easy to drop into. Its signature katsu curry is appealing for its combination of a crispy cutlet fried after ordering and curry sauce that starts sweet before the spicy heat unfolds. The portions are generous and well balanced against the price, earning praise for its value for money. The interior is simple, with an atmosphere comfortable for solo diners, making it suitable for lunch or a meal after work. On the other hand, some say service can take a little time when busy and that the atmosphere suits those looking to finish their meal quickly. Overall, it can be described as a highly satisfying shop where you can enjoy authentic Japanese-style curry at an affordable price near the station.
View on Google✨I visited 「日乃屋カレー」 in Machida🍛 I spontaneously stopped by 日乃屋カレー in Machida. In a compact space about the size of a 6-tatami room, individual seats line up in rows, and it felt easy to walk in even alone☺️ It’s perfect when you want a quick meal. This time I chose the menchi katsu curry labeled 「名代」 as a signature dish. The curry sauce has that reliable “日乃屋 character,” rich in flavor, with spice aromas gently wafting through, and that classic taste is reassuring as always✨ On the other hand, perhaps just by chance, this time the menchi katsu had a coating that was fried a bit too thoroughly, so the juiciness inside was a little hard to appreciate. With 「名代」 written on it, my expectations were high… Maybe the timing just wasn’t right today🤔 The price was 1050円. At the Kayabacho branch I visited before, it was 1250円, and the menchi katsu there was properly delicious and felt worth its quality, so perhaps each shop has quite a distinct character🌿 If you’re eating at the Machida branch, I feel the simple 日乃屋カレーオリジナル(850円) would be the most satisfying! Precisely because the sauce is delicious, the classic plate shines◎ The way flavors vary at each shop depending on timing and the staff’s touch is also an interesting part of chains, isn’t it✨
View on Google【日乃屋カレー町田店/カツ&メンチカレー(regular portion 1,200円)】 Visited for lunch in mid-October. Even at exactly 12, there was zero waiting time. The piping-hot curry sauce had a deep flavor, sweet at first with a spicy kick afterward. The crispy-coated katsu and juicy menchi were thoroughly coated in the curry sauce—fantastic! Fragrant steam rose with every spoonful, and I couldn’t stop eating. Lucky to get extra curry sauce free in the thank-you sale for the 1st anniversary of opening! The restaurant was clean and lively, and the staff were polite. This curry combines the best of their specialties, and it’s a dish I definitely want to return for!
