Authentic Japanese restaurant with great value.
View on GoogleHuge portion. Kids friendly.
View on GoogleI had the 極上ロースカツ. The thickness was amazing. My companion had the 極上ヒレ, and its size—or rather, its surface area—was amazing too (lol). The meat was tender with no sinew, though the loin’s sweetness was a little faint. Still, it was very delicious tonkatsu!
View on GoogleThe 上ロース here is the best in Japan. The tenderness of the meat, the firmness of the coating, and the special sauce are all exceptional. But the proprietress says she doesn’t want the place to be 「spread around」. Also, once you’ve had the katsu curry here, you won’t be satisfied anywhere else. Be warned!
View on GoogleThe tonkatsu at this restaurant is simply exceptional. This time, though, since they were in season, I tried the fried oysters. The tonkatsu is delicious, but the fried oysters are delicious too!! It’s a dish that shows the care put into the work. The proprietress’s service has character too. I think this truly is a hidden gem in Machida—or rather, a renowned, long-established restaurant. Incidentally, the restaurant over in Sagamihara is a famous place often featured on television. Apparently there’s some connection, but this Machida restaurant is said to be the main location. As for their respective features, the Machida restaurant is relatively inexpensive and very satisfying, while the Sagamihara restaurant also serves kappo cuisine.
