The special exhibitions are fun too. Besides the café, there's also a space where eating and drinking is allowed, and you can change diapers in the all-purpose restroom, so I often come here with my kids. Machida Museum of Literature is the perfect place for parents with small children. It has food and drinks allowed tables and also a small cafe if you didn't bring anything. You can change diapers in the toilet; they have diaper changing table. There is a corner where kids can read on the soft mattress. You can rent books on the first floor (it's a small city library), and exhibitions on the upper floor is interesting too. There are reading events and workshops for children and adults, so check it out!

View on GoogleHere at "Machida City Cultural Center Kotobaland", as shown in the photo, I found out that the exhibition/gallery "90 Years Since 'Kaze Tachinu': Hori Tatsuo, Hints for Happiness" runs until Sunday, March 22, 2026! I went on its final day, Sunday, March 22 From "Kaze Tachinu", I felt I learned a lot about the importance of words (language) Since this place is also named "Bunkakan Kotobaland", I thought it was an excellent facility
View on GoogleI visited because I was very curious about the special exhibition "NEO Classicism". On the first floor, related books are available to browse, and thought has been put into letting you enjoy the exhibition throughout the whole building. It's by no means a large space, but the exhibition content was wonderful, and I was impressed by the sensibility and ideas of the person in charge. After viewing, I was also able to buy original goods, and I had a wonderful time. It's a facility I'd like to visit again while strolling around Machida.
View on GoogleA facility that opened in 2006. Apparently the 1st floor serves as a library, the 2nd floor as an exhibition space, and the 3rd floor as rental facilities. On the 1F there was a café space. It gives the impression you can relax at your leisure. The 2F exhibition space is free to enter and was well worth seeing.
