An izakaya with mostly raised tatami seating, run by a quiet, good-natured owner. Nothing to complain about in taste or value. You can also come in just for a set meal. You can drink a fair amount on just the 5 kinds of appetizers, but the sashimi platter, gyoza, stir-fries, etc. are also recommended. One thing: if you hit a day with a bad crowd, it's bad enough to make you hesitate to return. If you land on a day when thugs who are basically kids who just grew up into adults are making a racket, you can't enjoy the food or the conversation at all. I guess they get carried away because nobody tells them off, but I often feel it's a bit much...

A cozy little izakaya with about five 4-seat tables and a small counter. It's across from Autobacs, and in a car you might drive right past without noticing. It also looks like it takes a bit of courage to walk in. I went for lunch feeling nervous, but had a really delicious sashimi set meal for 770 yen. The small side dishes were all delicious too, so I'm definitely going back. While I was eating, persimmon, coffee, and chocolate came out at the end. Right after I came in and ordered the daily set meal, they asked if I could eat natto, and when I said I couldn't, they changed the menu for me. They also asked if I wanted sugar and milk in my coffee and if I wanted a rice refill—a friendly, good-natured owner with lovely attention to detail. Lunch seems to be weekdays only. Also, apparently if you like their Instagram you get an extra small side dish, so give it a try.

Came to Kyosuisen, an eatery in Asahimachi, for lunch~. The walls are lined with a looooong row of menu cards, but once you sit down they serve you the day's lunch, so there's no need to agonize. You could even just sit there without saying a word? This day's lunch was niku-dofu (the dashi was delicious, not too sweet, sooo good), hijiki-ni (plump hijiki, sooo good), miso soup with tofu and wakame (such comforting warmth~), natto (small-grain natto), pickled napa cabbage (crunchy, sooo good), and freshly cooked rice that was delicious, no complaints at all! There were lots of kept bottles too, and it really hits home how loved this place is by the locals. They kindly gave us complimentary coffee after the meal. Seriously, it had the aroma of a specialty coffee shop! I enjoyed everything right to the very end! Thank you for the meal. It almost feels bad that this is only 770 yen. I'll be back~.

Visited for lunch ☀️🍴. 880 yen, parking for 2 cars, lots of small side dishes and I got really full. Visited again after a long time in February of Reiwa 6. Whatever snacks you eat, they're all tasty! Visited once more. 4 otoshi appetizers for 500 yen, delicious! Just as delicious as always!

[Posted April Reiwa 2] Today I had lunch while waiting for an oil change at Autobacs. Lunchtime is until 2 p.m., and I entered the restaurant at 2:10 p.m. The lights inside were already off, and when I asked on the off chance, "It's too late, isn't it?", they kindly said, "That's fine!" What a relief. I enjoyed the 770-yen daily lunch. Today's main was buri daikon. I've been here a few times, and the lunch is always health-conscious. Complimentary coffee after the meal is also much appreciated. Whenever I get my car serviced, I'll be sure to stop by.
