The most cheerful owner/chef you will ever meet <3 And the food is fantastic, too! He's always excited to meet new people and talk about his newest sauce
View on GoogleA karaage shop about a 7-minute drive from Fuchinobe Station, with many TV appearances and an owner with outstanding communication skills. This time I visited shortly after its 11 o'clock opening on Saturday. There was no line, but it looked full when I entered, so I waited. The owner told me the far-left counter seat was free and invited me over. Water and rice seem to be self-service. You apparently serve the rice in bowls like those used for seafood rice bowls at sushi restaurants. The owner said, "Just wait a little," and I waited while watching him fry in the back. Once the karaage was fried and plated, the owner verbally asked which of 4 sauces I wanted. This time I ordered honey mustard. (Photo) I immediately tried the karaage. The moment I bit into it, piping-hot meat juices overflowed and the sweet-salty sauce spread through my mouth. This is delicious! And the karaage pieces were large, with 5 of them! One piece might be enough for a whole bowl of rice... Saying delicious, delicious as I ate, I finished in no time. Absolutely stuffed. I told the owner, "It was really delicious. Thank you for the meal," and was about to pay when he said, "Sorry to keep you waiting! Did you eat enough? You can have seconds." I answered, "Yes, I'm very satisfied," and paid exactly 680円. Then he said, "Exact change really helps! Thank you!" As I left, I sincerely thought how much I wanted to learn from such natural, unforced thoughtfulness, while wondering which sauce to order next time. Extra If you come by car, parking on the street in front of the shop often results in a ticket from parking enforcement, so I recommend a nearby paid parking lot.
View on GoogleI saw it on the show オモウマい店 and went to try it. Even though it's nearby, I didn't know the shop existed. I wish I'd noticed it sooner. 5 large pieces of karaage and all-you-can-eat rice for 680円. The karaage sauces change depending on the day, and everything I've tried so far has been outstanding‼️ That day I chose cheese dakgalbi and salted lemon sauces. Both were very delicious. Plus, the guy (the owner) is incredibly nice, making it a place you can't help wanting to visit.
View on GoogleSeveral years have passed since I saw オモウマイ a long time ago and wanted to visit, but I finally made it♪ I love chicken, and karaage is a favorite🍗 Taiwan garlic⁉️ I think that was it; anyway, it was incredibly delicious🔥 Each piece was large, fried crisp, and juicy inside❗️ He said to help myself to as much rice as I wanted—no wonder he appeared on オモウマイ〜😊 He said they'd suddenly come to film again today! The owner and I both have diabetes, so we had a lively, fun conversation haha His A1C18 back when things were bad was really top-tier haha Apparently he's now brought it below 7 through strength training🔥 He said strength training lowered his numbers, and I said mine had actually dropped through strength training too, so we hit it off haha We're close in age too, and he was a very kind owner♪ The J. F. Oberlin students also seemed like regulars, and I immediately sensed they had a close relationship😊 Great value—or rather, almost too cheap, in the 600円 range❗️ I'll stop by again when I'm nearby♪ Let's both take care of our health🔥 Strength training so we can keep eating karaage forever💪
View on GoogleMy assumptions were overturned from the ground up in so many ways. Taste, portions, price—by any measure, it's no exaggeration to say the value is among the best in Japan. The greatest appeal is, without question, the owner's personality. He's very unique and funny, with a mysterious power to turn you into a fan after one conversation. To be honest, you couldn't call the interior "clean" even as a compliment (haha). It may be a bit challenging for those who are fastidious about cleanliness, but even that cluttered, "Showa-era street stall" atmosphere feels like a spice enhancing this shop's overwhelming deliciousness. For those who want "delicious karaage until I'm absolutely full!" rather than a stylish meal in a spotless restaurant, this is unquestionably a fantastic place. 〈For those coming by car〉 There's no parking lot, so I parked in a nearby paid lot. Luckily, one space was available.
