If you're looking for ramen or oyster ramen(牡蠣ソバ)in the Machida–Machida Station area, visit “貝ガラ屋 町田.” As the second branch of the popular “貝ガラ屋” in Fuchinobe, Kanagawa Prefecture, we serve rich 牡蠣ソバ. Our thick oyster potage broth concentrates the umami of carefully selected oysters, delivering a one-of-a-kind flavor that fills your mouth with oyster aroma from the first sip. It's recommended for oyster lovers. It's popular for lunch and with those looking to enjoy a carefully crafted bowl. Adding 貝メシ to the soup to finish the meal is also a popular way to enjoy it. Opened in 2024 as the second branch of the Fuchinobe location (an extremely popular oyster specialist selected for Tabelog's 百名店 for 6 consecutive years). There were 5 people in line at 12:30 on a weekday. Seated in about 10 minutes. Meal tickets are purchased beforehand. The moment you enter, a gentle oyster aroma wafts through the shop. It's counter-only, with quick turnover. 濃厚牡蠣ソバ has a creamy broth you could call potage, making you feel like you're “drinking oysters.” Zero harshness, and although incredibly rich, it has a clean finish. The medium-thick curly noodles catch the broth beautifully. The chashu is slightly rare, moist, and juicy. Squeezing a little lemon at the end adds freshness and makes you keep eating. The 貝めし set is a must. Pouring the remaining broth over rice cooked in asari clam, scallop, and mussel stock to finish the meal soaked everything in shellfish essence—an incredible finale.

I stopped by 貝ガラ屋 町田, which I'd been curious about. It's a place where you can enjoy ramen made with oysters. The bowl I had this time stood out for its rich oyster broth. The oyster umami came through clearly from the first bite, and the full-bodied flavor kept my chopsticks moving. Although rich, it lets you fully enjoy the oyster flavor, so I especially recommend it to anyone who likes seafood ramen. I think it's also perfect when you want ramen a little different from your usual. It's a memorable bowl that lets you thoroughly enjoy oyster umami. If you're looking for delicious ramen in Machida, I'd really like you to try this place at least once. I'd like to go back for another meal.

Visited on Saturday around 13:30. There was no wait, and the shop was about 70% full. I sat at the counter; ordering was by meal ticket, and payment was cash only. Service was efficient, and the atmosphere was welcoming for solo diners. I ordered the 牡蠣ソバ貝飯セット for 1,300円. As the sign says, “rich 牡蠣ソバ for oyster lovers,” it's more like a potage with oysters smoothly blended into it than ordinary shellfish-broth ramen. Even so, it isn't too heavy and has no fishy oyster smell or harshness. The aroma and richness are pronounced, but the finish is surprisingly light. The noodles are medium-thick and curly with a chewy texture. They catch the broth well, making a good match. Personally, I'd also like to try thin noodles as an extra serving with this broth. The toppings are chashu, tender-tip menma, green onion, radish sprouts, shredded chili, and nori. The 貝飯 tastes very mild on its own, but it's intended to be combined with the soup. Adding a little 牡蠣ソバ broth partway through layers oyster aroma over the rice cooked with shellfish. On the table are pepper, chili oil, ichimi chili powder, and lemon juice. Adding a little lemon juice in the latter half sharpens the flavor and makes it easier to eat. It's a little walk from Machida Station, but it's highly satisfying if you're coming specifically for oyster ramen. This bowl was approachable not only for oyster lovers but also for people concerned about oysters' smell or harshness. Next time I'd like to try tsukemen or an extra serving of thin noodles. ・Access: 6-minute walk from Machida Station on the Odakyu Line, 10-minute walk from Machida Station on the JR Yokohama Line ・Payment: cash only ・Ordering: meal tickets ・Smoking: all seats non-smoking ・Signature dish: 濃厚牡蠣ソバ ・Reservations: not accepted ・Seating: 15 seats ・Seating type: counter seating ・Visit occasions: solo dining, families/with children ・Parking: none ・Nearby information: paid parking nearby, no affiliated parking ・With children: children welcome, strollers allowed inside ・Services: takeaway and delivery available ・Opening date: 2024年6月14日

I had 濃厚牡蠣そば, the 貝メシ set with an added 味玉 topping, and an extra serving of noodles. 濃厚牡蠣そば A combination of rich, creamy oyster-extract broth and medium-thick noodles. Apart from the added topping, it comes topped with chashu, radish sprouts, finely shredded green onion, tender-tip menma, nori, and thinly shredded chili. One sip of the broth fills your mouth with oyster flavor. The medium-thick noodles are chewy and catch the broth well, making them very delicious. The tender chashu and crunchy vegetables also do a great job. 貝メシ Rice cooked in shellfish stock. The set comes with the small portion from the standalone menu. One bite releases the flavor of scallops. It pairs very well with the ramen. Extra noodles These are thinner than the noodles in 濃厚牡蠣そば, and topped with radish sprouts. Unlike the earlier medium-thick noodles, they have a firmer bite, so you can enjoy the difference in texture and how the broth clings to them. The oyster flavor lingers in your mouth for a while, letting you enjoy the aftertaste. It's an exquisite bowl that oyster lovers should try. Thank you for the meal.

A ramen shop a little walk from Machida Station. I went on Sunday around 13, but it was full, so I had to wait in line. It uses meal tickets, which you buy before lining up. The ticket machine appeared to accept cash only. There are 4 waiting chairs inside; everyone after that waits outside. When I visited, I was behind the 4 people waiting inside, but perhaps my timing was good, because I got seated without waiting very long. I ordered 濃厚牡蠣ソバ for 1000円. The oyster flavor was certainly strong, but somehow it wasn't too overpowering and felt nicely balanced. Partway through, I tried adding chili and lemon juice. The lemon juice made it pleasantly refreshing.
