Never been to a tantanmen restaurant with egg mixed into everything. There is no mention of it in the menu. If you call yourself a tantanmen restaurant and go away from the traditional recipe, how about mentioning it in the menu to save people disappointment?
View on GoogleI always eat at the Kyomachi main branch, and it had been about 2 months since I last ate there, so I was thinking I wanted to eat it soon, and then a new store opened in a place like this! It was crowded with cars before noon, but I parked in the back and visited for the first time 😙 The interior is like a slightly modern, calm snack bar 😄 The young staff members greet you energetically and work efficiently, NICE 👍 Unlike other stores, you can select the firmness of the noodles, the richness of the flavor, and the amount of garlic. You can ask for this verbally at other stores, but having it on the menu display from the start is a great service 🙆 And the set menus are extensive, which is also wonderful 😁 Isogen is, after all, famous for its exquisite fried rice, so I ordered the Tantanmen (extra spicy, second level) with a fried rice set. Although it was full, the food was served relatively quickly, in about 10 minutes 🔟 Since I asked for a richer flavor, the seasoning and everything else were up to par and delicious ♪ The fried rice also had a good umami seasoning, the eggs were fluffy, and although the portion was small, it was delicious 😘 I registered on LINE to get the double garlic service, and it was crunchy and very good 😊 I'm quite satisfied, but I have one request: the initial water and the water in the pitcher are just tap water, so it's lukewarm and tastes bad. Especially since it will get hotter from now on, and your body temperature rises even more after eating, please put a lot of ice in the water! Cold water alone makes it taste incredibly delicious, so I really want you to put ice in it 😙 It's exactly the same as when I went to the Kamoi branch after it opened, so it seems to be the same group 😌 The main branch and others do this as a matter of course 😉 I pass by this area often and will use it again soon, so please, by all means, provide cold water 🤲
View on GoogleI've eaten it as cup ramen, but this was my first time eating New Tantanmen at a restaurant, so I entered with excitement. The gyoza and soup were delicious, and I liked the texture of the noodles, but is it standard for there to be less egg than I thought...? I ate the regular portion of noodles, but after I finished, I thought it might have been nice to have a bit more... then I saw a customer order a refill (kaedama) and I was surprised, 'What! There was a refill option!?' It's not written anywhere on the menu... Is it a secret menu? Also, it seems you could order flavor preferences (I found out after seeing a sign posted after I ordered), and I would have liked some announcement about that. The counter was a bit hard to sit at. It's good that it's high and has high chairs, but even if I tried to stretch my legs, I hit the wall immediately, and there was no footrest, so it was hard to maintain my posture when eating while leaning forward, and I felt like I always had to put strength into my lower back, which made me tired... From next time, even if I go alone, I want to use a table seat. I thought it would be good if there was some kind of footrest.
View on GoogleFirst visit to 'Ganso New Tantanmen Honpo Onoji-machi branch' which opened in June! I visited during a slightly early lunch time, but since it had just opened, the parking lot was quite crowded, which showed its popularity. This time I ordered the 'less spicy' Tantanmen. The soup, packed with umami and garlic, blended well with the fluffy eggs and minced meat, and by making it less spicy, I was able to fully enjoy the richness of the soup itself, which was extremely delicious! The interior was brand new and clean, and the staff were lively. I would like to visit again to enjoy the side menus as well.
View on GoogleThe taste is average. I felt the egg was a bit scarce, and even the 'extra spicy' wasn't that spicy; it's about the same as the 'extra spicy' at Kyomachi. The manager is on the floor handling orders, but from the waiting time until leaving, there wasn't a single smile, it's very business-like. Payment is cash only. Since the kitchen is narrow relative to the number of seats, I guess they can't do sets like other stores? As others have pointed out, the height of the chairs at the counter doesn't match. It's probably fine for women, but men will feel cramped. Well, it hasn't been a week since opening, so I'll update after I visit again.
