The atmosphere of the restaurant is like Showa era. The chef is super cool 👳👴 I enjoyed simple but delicious steak.

View on GoogleI visited when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. They were supposed to open at 11時半, so I arrived 10 minutes early, but customers were already inside and starting to order. We were invited to sit at an empty table, but the group after us was told the restaurant was full and left. It seems to be a very popular place. Customers kept arriving afterward, but were told it was full and began lining up outside. Each table seats 4, but their policy seems to be no shared tables: even if 1 customer occupies 1 table, they consider it full. Apparently, you aren't allowed to order until an older staff member brings you weak coffee that looks like barley tea. Customers who call out "Excuse me" get snapped at with "Wait a minute." The place is doing a roaring trade, so the staff seem overwhelmed too. Once the coffee and cutlery are set down, you order. We went with the conventional ステーキランチ and ハンバーグランチ. They didn't write anything down; we left it to the staff member's memory. When the customer next to us commented on the coffee, "I would have liked Mexican," they got a sharp "Tell me at the start." Generally, polite language isn't used. Once things ease up, they chat pleasantly with familiar regulars. Just as we were thinking, "Have they forgotten our order?", the dishes arrived exactly as ordered. With trembling hands, the staff member kept saying "Move it, move it," so we had to shift the coffee, corn salad, and cutlery they had thoughtfully set down until they were satisfied, or they wouldn't put the plates down. The hamburger steak we finally got to eat was, well, reasonably tasty. Though it was thin. The steak was similar. It was 235 grams, so I suppose that can't be helped. After we'd finished eating and were drinking our coffee, they came to clear the plates immediately. There were customers waiting, so I suppose they wanted us to leave quickly. We took the hint and promptly stood up. Paying was unusual too: they don't tell you the total. Presumably you're expected to add up the menu prices and pay. I handed over 4000円 and received the correct change. There's no such thing as a receipt. This was the first time they said "Thank you." I suppose only customers who pay properly and leave promptly after eating deserve gratitude. It's very easy to understand. When we went outside, I was surprised to see about 20 customers lined up along the stairs. It seems to be a very popular place. Honestly, I'd recommend バーガーキング's ワッパー instead for its flame-grilled flavor, but I think this is a restaurant loved by local regulars.
