I had cold tanuki soba (large) for 1070円. It's been getting quite hot, so I visited because I wanted my favorite cold tanuki soba. It's near the station and on the way to Yaho Tenmangu, so it seems to be a popular restaurant. The sauce was well seasoned, and the soba had a good bite and had been nicely chilled. But the tenkasu? Agedama? were awful. Normally, tenkasu gradually absorb the sauce and soften, but the ones I had that day didn't absorb any sauce even at the end, and they were incredibly hard!!! The texture was as if they'd been made several days earlier and gone rock-hard. I'd gone specifically to eat a favorite dish, but felt nothing but disappointment. They don't have to be freshly made, but I want them to use tenkasu that actually absorb the sauce. I'll never go again.
View on GoogleI visited for lunch. It's a restaurant serving smooth, easy-to-slurp nihachi soba. Lunch is under 1000円 and includes an egg rice bowl, so you'll be full! The interior is very clean and has a nice atmosphere. There's parking for about 2 cars in front of the shop. It's just the right place to stop by on a walk to Yaho Tenmangu.
View on GoogleThis was the only place I could visit alongside my first shrine visit of the year. The duck nanban soba warmed me up. It was delicious! The interior was clean and calming. The children's udon wasn't too thick or too firm, so it looked easy to eat. It only comes with udon, jelly, and juice, so fries or a croquette would be nice. There are lots of menu options, so I plan to visit whenever I come to pay my respects!
View on GoogleI ordered the katsudon set, and it was very delicious! The soba had a good bite and tasted great, and the katsudon and miso soup were delicious too. It was fantastic. I was also happy that you can order from your seat and pay with electronic money. I'm glad I found a good soba restaurant.
View on GoogleI've lived in Yaho for 30 years. I've tried every soba restaurant in the area, but both the soba and udon here are satisfyingly delicious, and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant was renovated a few years ago and has a nice atmosphere too. Nothing to complain about. Monzen Soba Daikokuya. My top recommendation…my favorite soba restaurant in Kunitachi! (Mori soba…you can enjoy firm new-harvest soba briskly chilled in ice water)
