Going at a brisk pace, I was able to descend via Ura-sabaku and Omote-sabaku in 2 hours. Google Maps is full of mistakes, so be careful. When I went, a fallen tree was blocking the path you can normally take. This kind of info isn't being put out there.... But if I didn't go through there it'd be a 1-hour detour, so rather than going into grass where I couldn't see my footing and falling, I took the route of grabbing tree branches and jumping onto rocks. It was the day I was leaving by ship afterwards. Even when my face got caught in spider webs I just forced my way through. Spiders were hanging off my hat. Even if you break them with a branch, you can't break them all. There are so many. That said, it's worth coming. The foreigner I was with didn't even hike here, but if you're interested, go for it.
View on GoogleI think this is the best view. I climbed in the morning, and right as I got here the fog was clearing and the morning sun was rising. I don't think I'll ever forget this view for the rest of my life.
View on GoogleAs of May 2022 There are 2 tables. I originally hadn't planned to visit, but added it to my route on a local's recommendation. Personally, it's the best scenery on the mountain.
View on GoogleIt was a magnificent view. Because of the wind direction, the west side of the mountain was fogged in and you couldn't see anything, but here on the east side the view was clear. You can look down on nearby Tadanae Island.. Got here in 90 minutes walking slowly from Shirashima 6th station.
View on GoogleThe edge of Ura-sabaku. It must be beautiful when the azaleas bloom. There's a table, so I had a snack. A lovely place.
