A museum that seems to contain almost the entire history of this small island of Kozushima. It was apparently expanded with lottery funding, and the facilities are good. Near the entrance there are explanations of the island's flowers, birds, and scenery, and my son looked at them with interest too. The historical materials are on the 2nd floor and toward the back; the ones at the back date from before the expansion, so they were a bit older. If you're interested in Kozushima, I highly recommend stopping by.

It's closed on Mondays, but apparently there are no closing days in July and August. It was 300 yen for adults, and we stayed 30-40 minutes. It's an ordinary local history museum where you can get a simple look at the history and nature. There were also lots of exhibits by Kozushima students.

Admission 300 yen. Closed Mondays (open in July and August) Above all, the receptionist is very knowledgeable and answers your questions about Kozushima carefully. I also liked how proactively they engaged. I think that's rare for places like this.

On the day I was going home on the jet boat from Tako Bay, it was also raining, so I visited to kill time. Admission is 300 yen for adults and 200 yen for children. As it turned out, there were far more exhibits and books than I'd imagined, and in the end I left the museum reluctantly because of the bus time. I found myself reflecting on Kozushima's history, its unexpected connections with other regions, and the lives of the people who lived on Kozushima. Next time I'd like to visit again at a leisurely pace.

It's the only museum on the island, but it's a pity that everything is only in Japanese. But the staff's service exceeded expectations.
