【Yabuchu@Toyocho】 ●Arrived 12:20 on a weekday, full (got in within 3 minutes) ●Likelihood of revisiting|★☆☆☆☆ ◾️Oyakodon set: 900 yen —————————— The service isn't bad. The atmosphere isn't bad either. It feels like a typical soba shop. Probably people who work nearby. When I went at midday it was full. There are various set menus. It wasn't written on the menu outside, but the shirasu-don set looked good, so I ordered it, only to be told it was sold out. I gave up and went with the oyakodon set. The chicken was breast meat. Because it was simmered too long, the egg was hard and the flavor quite strong. More of a cooking issue than a seasoning issue. For the soba I chose cold. Even if pre-boiled noodles are unavoidable, I see, so it's like this. The broth was fine, but it bothered me that it didn't feel fully chilled. I'll refrain from more specific comments. *************************************** ◾️Oyakodon set: 900 yen 【Yabuchu】 1-13-4 Minamisuna, Koto-ku, Tokyo Hours|11:00 - 15:00 17:00 - 19:30 Closed |Sun *As of July 2026 ***************************************

2026,6 Sukiyaki-don set + half tanuki soba = 950 yen✨ Curry set & cold tanuki soba = 850 yen✨ Got delivery again from this neighborhood soba shop with down-to-earth prices. I usually order the katsudon, but the sukiyaki-don is not to be underestimated either. The tanuki soba is pretty filling even as a half portion, so you get full. The curry is a uniquely distinctive one that seems made from flour, and it's not spicy at all. Being able to eat it leisurely at home for the same price as at the shop is really something to be grateful for. 2026,2 When I was eating at the shop, delivery calls kept coming in nonstop, and I thought, wow, it must be really popular. So I got a menu and tried ordering delivery for the first time. By the way, they said that, old-school style, they don't charge a delivery fee—amazing 👏 I ordered the katsudon set with tanuki soba for 1000 yen✨ and curry rice🍛 with cold tanuki soba for 850 yen✨ Just like in the shop, a very pleasant person brought the delivery🙆‍♀️ Old-fashioned style, the soba arrived piping hot on a heavy wooden tray. It tasted very delicious. At home you can customize it, like topping it with shredded nori or adding grated daikon, ( *˙ω˙*)و Nice! Being able to eat Yabuchu's soba without leaving home, I might get hooked on delivery🤗 2026,1 The owner and his wife's service is really great So I came back☆。.:*・゜ My partner ordered the sukiyaki-don set for 950 yen that I had last time because it looked delicious. I ordered the katsudon set for 1000 yen, which I used to eat a lot, for the first time in ages. The katsudon after so long was delicious! The soba is lightly flavored, but the katsudon was well-seasoned, just how I like it. It was way tastier than the katsudon at the soba shop I often go to. They have lots of other sets too, so I'll come back to eat again. 2025,12 Yabuchu, a neighborhood soba shop I'd stopped going to at some point. I went for the first time in a long while to have year-end soba (toshikoshi soba). Because of its location, it seems to get a ton of delivery orders; delivery calls kept coming in nonstop. I ordered the sukiyaki-don set for 950 yen✨ It looked really delicious just from appearance, and the careful presentation left a good impression! The saucy sukiyaki-don was solidly good The slightly small tanuki soba was a bit lightly seasoned, maybe? A little stronger flavor would be ( *˙ω˙*)و Nice! My partner had the ten-mori soba for 1200 yen✨ Two shrimp tempura plus green pepper and eggplant tempura The staff were very pleasant too, and the down-to-earth pricing and generous soba were pretty great. So my impression changed a lot, in a good way. Maybe I'll try ordering delivery next time❤︎

A fellow Koto-ku foodie told me this soba shop was good, so I went the other day! About a 20-minute walk from my home. It was fairly close. That day was a late lunch. I arrived around 13:00. Inside, there are tables and tatami seating. It's fine for one person up to a few people. That day, the tables were free. I ordered the shirasu-don set! I secretly love shirasu-don! Surprisingly few places serve it. The shirasu-don and kake soba went perfectly together, and it was delicious. There was more volume than it looked, and I was stuffed. A few more people came in as I was leaving. A place loved by locals! Thanks for the meal~ Thank you!

25/4/19 I had an errand in Toyocho, and on the way back I dropped in at this shop, which had a relatively high rating on Google Map. Just before 13:00 it was almost full, with only one table free, and I was shown there. The quintessential neighborhood soba shop. Nostalgic Showa-era menu items line the walls. I hesitated a bit, but ordered the kaikadon set. The pork version of oyakodon, called tanindon in Kansai. It came with warm soba. Since it was a slightly chilly day, the warm soba broth soaked into my body. A slightly strong soy sauce dashi you could call true Edo-style soba tsuyu. Slurping the soba, then on to the kaikadon. Firmly seasoned and assertive, but tasty. I wonder if it's based on the soba tsuyu. If I had to say something, chicken does go better with egg-simmered dishes. Next time I'll try the oyakodon. Plenty of volume and reasonable prices. A satisfying lunch.

・ To "Yabuchu" in Minamisuna 1-chome. First I ordered a large bottle (650 yen), motsu nikomi (500 yen), and sake-steamed clams (500 yen). The motsu nikomi was sweetish, and the sake-steamed clams were a case of simple is best, decently tasty 😌 To finish, I ordered the katsudon set (1,000 yen) with warm soba. The katsudon was neither too sweet nor too salty, nicely balanced, and very filling 💯 The soba was medium-thick and cooked on the firm side. I don't know if it's homemade, but it's really long. Overall, a downtown soba shop with good value and generous portions. Thank you for the meal.
