Absolutely everything you eat here is delicious. This place has nothing to do with the flashy, glittery style or the sense of value based on expensive ingredients that has become so trendy lately. The feeling is that they want you to enjoy the natural deliciousness of what they have, prepared carefully, one thing at a time, consistently. It was my first visit, so I chose the omakase course. I'm sure the omakase alone would have been satisfying enough, but around the salad I felt like having a little more to drink, so I added agedashi tofu and a vinegared scallop adductor dish. The chef serves the dishes while taking the order of the remaining courses into account. Everything was truly delicious, but the agedashi tofu in particular suited my tastes better than any I've ever had, so delicious I was lost for words. Crispy. But then there's the Spanish mackerel and round eggplant too… I couldn't possibly write about everything, and I'm even certain that the things I didn't order would be delicious... Every menu item is so tempting it's a problem... As for drinks, there aren't that many kinds of sake, but they only stock ones that definitely go with the food here. The highball was Chivas. They even take the trouble to break up the ice. It's run by a husband and wife, and both are very kind and warm. Credit cards OK, PayPay OK too. They've got that covered as well. Occasionally, though, you hear sounds like sighing and tongue-clicking from the kitchen where the chef is cooking (haha), but that's probably a habit. Not only his wife but the chef himself is incredibly nice. So nice you wonder if someone this nice can really exist (I'm frustrated by my lack of vocabulary). He doesn't seem to be in a bad mood at all, so you probably don't need to worry about it. But if you think it would bother you, perhaps choose a table seat. I realized on the way home that there hadn't been any meat in the course. Even without relying on meat, just vegetables and seafood left me incredibly satisfied. It all came to a beautiful finish. The restaurant looked newly fitted out, so I thought it was new, but apparently it's already been 4、5 years. The strange thing is that as of October 2021 there is only 1 comment here on Google Maps. With the one I'm writing now, this makes 2. Why would such a good place have so few in an area like Monzen-Nakacho? With this quality, it deserves to be better known and rated more highly. I had quite a lot to drink too, but was surprised to feel no effects at all the next day… As I was leaving, they said they'd send updates, so I gave them my address, and a postcard thanking me for my visit arrived right away. So thoughtful… I'd love to return to that warm atmosphere again very soon.

As others have also written, the owner kept clicking his tongue and sighing the whole time, which made me so uncomfortable that I left partway through. I don't run a restaurant, so this is just an outsider's opinion, but while the food isn't bad, this won't do in a place where most of the seating is at the counter. It isn't a restaurant I'd want to return to despite the owner's attitude. There are plenty of other good places. I was also checking whether it could be used for business entertaining, but another visit is pretty much out of the question.
