Shiomi Skippers serves some seriously good burgers. We were amazed by how juicy, flavorful, and well-balanced they were. The meat was succulent, cooked medium, and clearly of very good quality. The burger combinations are creative, with something to suit everyone’s taste. The thick-cut fries paired perfectly with the burgers, and I also tried their homemade ginger soda, which was really refreshing. Prices are reasonable, and the staff are warm, welcoming, and accommodating. The experience is made even better by the lovely views of the bay. The only small challenge was finding the restaurant, even though it’s just a few minutes’ walk from Shiomi Station. A banner or clearer sign outside might help. Overall, definitely recommended!
View on GoogleA convenient burger bar located 2 minutes away from our hotel. Essentially burger and chips were on the menu. The wait was fair long as it took about 30 minutes for our 5 burgers to arrive. The patty was slightly under-seasoned but okay. From a price point though I felt it was fairly steeped. 3 beers and 5 burgers were closed to USD100.
View on GoogleThis was a restaurant I had been curious about ever since I heard that it became the first Japanese team ever to compete in the “World Food Championships 2021,” where it ranked 10th in the Signature Dish category. The inside of the restaurant was surprisingly spacious, with more seating than I expected. I had a hard time deciding which burger to order, but I chose the Skipper’s Egg Cheese and added bacon. It was hot outside too, so I also ordered a shandy gaff. The moment I took my first bite of the burger, I thought, “This is insanely good!” After that, I ended up silently devouring the whole thing. The buns were toasted perfectly, with a wonderful texture and mouthfeel, and the flavor was excellent too. I loved both the slightly crisp texture at the beginning and the way the buns soaked up the meat juices as I kept eating. The patty was wonderfully meaty and had a strong presence—this is exactly what a real burger should feel like. Personally, this level of coarse-ground meat is my favorite. The juicy meat flavor bursting out with every bite was incredible. And the fried egg was cooked perfectly as well. The firmly cooked egg white with its slightly crispy edges added a really nice accent. And the sauce on this burger was absolutely amazing! It was so good that after finishing the burger, I used the remaining sauce on the plate to dip my fries into it. If you love burgers, you absolutely have to visit this place. And even if you’re not usually a big burger fan, I think this burger will make you want to come back again.
View on GoogleWe visited Shiomi Skippers today and had a massive feast! We ordered two full-sized burgers, a 5-piece Slider Set, Chili Fries, and Truffle Fries. I personally had the BLT Green Chili Burger, and it was the highlight of the meal. The bacon was perfectly crispy, adding a great crunch to every bite, and the buns were toasted to perfection—super fragrant and buttery. The fries are definitely a unique experience. Unlike your typical crispy fast-food fries, these are hand-cut, thick, and very soft (the "shittori" style). They are quite rich and oily—especially the Truffle ones—which makes them feel more like a decadent side dish than just a snack. If you love a hearty, potato-forward texture that soaks up all the seasoning, you’ll love these. Great atmosphere and even better food. Highly recommend the Slider Set if you want to try a bit of everything!
