A café located inside the art museum. It gets very busy around lunchtime, and the queue to place an order is often extremely long. Surprisingly, finding a seat is usually easier than expected, as there are plenty of tables, including those by the windows. The real bottleneck is the checkout queue rather than seating. I would recommend it only if you don’t mind waiting, but the pleasant atmosphere makes the visit worthwhile.
View on GoogleFor lunch today, I stopped by the café inside the Contemporary Art Museum. They offer a variety of ready-made sandwiches, so it felt like a convenient option for a quick meal. The sandwiches are made fresh daily, which was noticeable right away. Even though they weren’t heated, the bread quality held up well, and everything tasted fresh. I ordered the fish cream with yuzu sandwich, as well as one with raw ham, edamame, and avocado—both were light yet flavorful, making them easy to enjoy without feeling heavy. I also had an iced coffee to go with the meal. The sandwiches I chose were ¥880 each, which I believe are among the more premium options (others start around ¥550–¥560), likely due to the ingredients. Overall, for a ready-made sandwich, the quality is quite solid. The café itself is also a strong point—there’s plenty of seating, and even on a weekend, it didn’t feel overcrowded. You can choose between indoor seating or a more relaxed atmosphere outside in the courtyard. A pleasant, reliable spot for a quick and easy lunch, especially if you’re already visiting the museum.
View on GoogleNice easy food and drinks, you can pick and read the art books put besides the windows. Very thoughtful of tourists. Outside views are also nice to enjoy.
View on GoogleDrinks are well-made and definitely instagrammable! All sandwiches tasted fantastic and all my friends loved them as well. A mackerel sandwich is my personal favorite as it costs only under 1,000 yen! The decor is of course well designed as it’s located in an art museum.
View on GoogleTasty dessert pastries, coffee and sandwiches. Shocked at the affordable prices considering it's a museum cafe. Amazing outside seating. Forget about sitting inside.
