Fantastic visit and experience. The Koshino Hiroko exhibition was excellently curated and visually stunning. It was wonder to learn more about her work and achievements. In room 5 we were able to touch the garments which added to our understanding. The general exhibition was wonderful as well and added to our visit. The building is fantastic and worth exploring and the cafe is great. All staff were welcoming and helpful. Lots of public transport and lockers available.
View on GoogleA beautiful museum that really deserves better art. The permanent collection is mostly a relic of Japan's roaring 80s when a country flush with cash was tricked into buying up absolute bottom-of-the-barrel Hockneys and Warhols, plus a bunch of conceptual garbage and office tower lobby public sculptures. A bummer. There are a few interesting Japanese painters upstairs, but that's about it. Really such a gorgeous space to show art in, hopefully they can pony up for some better traveling shows in the future...or fire all of their curators and start again 😂
View on GoogleBeautiful art museum. Got the all exhibit ticket for 3000円。 It was very enjoyable. There is also English description for most pieces. Staff is pleasant. The museum itself is large with great architecture. Highly recommend.
View on GoogleI love how MOT is designed and the space and curation are very conducive for patrons to pause and think. Generally well kept with lockers and water fountains near washrooms, have cafes and an art library as well as open air spaces to walk around so it’s very comfortable to stay for hours.
View on GoogleI wish I had more time to further explore the place. It was also hot when I visited so I couldn’t enjoy the outdoor portion of the museum. They were running two exhibits when I visited but I was only able to visit only one. They were timed exhibits, too. Better if you can come in early so you don’t run out of time.
