Straightforward Japanese cafe offering simple rice, meat & noodles dishes, plus beer.

mammacafe151A cherishes 「一期一会」 (151A), once-in-a-lifetime encounters, not only with customers but also with business partners, ingredients, materials, and tableware. Making the most of fresh ingredients as they are, we serve warm, heartfelt meals made with the care of a 「mother」 (mamma in Italian), who puts children's health first. With food safety and peace of mind in mind, we use organically grown, pesticide-free ingredients whenever possible. We buy our rice as brown rice from a contracted farmer who grows it organically in Inzai City, Chiba Prefecture. Since brown rice is a little difficult to eat, we mill it halfway at the cafe, preserving the nutrient-rich germ and outer layers, and serve it freshly milled and freshly cooked.

I was looking for a place to eat close to the Contemporary Art Museum and I stumbled upon this really cute cafe. It was so cozy on the inside and I felt like I just entered someone’s house and they were making some home-food style cuisines. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it. It felt so peaceful and familiar. I would highly recommend.

Food was ok but very small portion. The guy was not friendly at all. We asked if we can sit at tatami area, he said it's for more than 3 people. But it was 830am no one was waiting. I'm surprised that he said no. Any other restaurants would say ok if no one waiting. He looks like he hates his job. He looked angry. My happy morning mood was ruined by him. I wouldn't go there again.
