One of the best get aways within the city. A good landscape change - from the bussing city vibe to a peaceful riverside.

I stopped by when I came for a walk with my dog at Ojima Komatsugawa Park. A stylish cafe, "Åter Tokyo" (apparently read "Ōteru Tōkyō"), next to the toilets of the Kyu-Nakagawa River Station. A stylish sandwich cafe ☕️🥪 with a Swedish flag 🇸🇪 fluttering. The food is light meals of sandwiches and hot dogs plus cookies and cakes, and all of them are Swedish! For drinks, in addition to soft drinks like coffee and tea, there's a wide selection of alcohol. And amazingly, dogs are OK both on the terrace and inside! That's much appreciated. It was a spring-like day, so this time I had the open sandwich and coffee lunch set on the terrace; it was authentic and very delicious. There were lots of radio-controlled yachts ⛵️ floating on the river. There were also stalls from a Niigata rice shop, organic vegetable sales, and one selling Indian deli dishes.

It's a place you can use as a rest stop along the way when riding the amphibious vehicle. You can take a toilet break and have a light snack. I thought it was honest of them that dagashi (cheap candies) were sold at list price. Also recommended for people who want to see the amphibious vehicle.
