[Toyosu] Authentic Western food on campus! A hidden gem with a great-value weekend lunch set and a pet-friendly terrace I went to "Ginza Sicilia Toyosu" on the Shibaura Institute of Technology campus! The quality is hard to believe for a university cafeteria, and it's a hidden spot open not just to students but to the general public too. The menu is extensive, from lunch sets to à la carte. ▪️Unbeatable-value weekend & holiday set (1,380 yen) Soup, salad, pasta, and even dessert for this price is a great deal! The portions are generous and satisfying. ▪️Dog-friendly terrace seating There's a pleasant terrace, and being able to enjoy lunch with your dog is another big plus. A recommended hidden lunch spot in the Toyosu area worth knowing about, where you can enjoy authentic Western food at reasonable prices! Be sure to check it out.

A surprisingly authentic find at Shibaura Institute of Technology. Sicilia, where you can enjoy the taste of a famous Ginza restaurant at school cafeteria prices I went to Sicilia on the campus of Shibaura Institute of Technology. If you go in picturing a typical school cafeteria because you heard it's a university dining hall, you'll be surprised in a good way. Here you can enjoy authentic Western food from Sicilia, that famous restaurant in Ginza. The big difference from the Ginza location is that it's self-service, but in exchange prices are kept quite low, with reasonable pricing that comes from being on a university campus. Being able to eat a generous lunch menu for around 700 yen is, in this day and age, no exaggeration to call amazing value. Even better is the terrace seating. Dogs are allowed here, so you can stop by while walking your dog, which is a big draw. The flavor quality is without question, and it fills you up properly. It's a hidden gem I'd love for not only students but also locals and people with pets to know about.

Ginza Sicilia at Shibaura Institute of Technology in Toyosu. Jump down that rabbit hole and you'll find an otherworldly space like nothing you've ever seen. A delicious trattoria appears, like a new and wonderful Wonderland! Shibaura Institute of Technology in Toyosu, a Saturday just before noon in mid-February. So there was a Ginza Sicilia branch in a place like this~ The basketball court on the grounds is a practice spot for local kids. The sound of dribbling echoes pleasantly off the buildings and the high-ceilinged pilotis. It's a bit like a park, too. A nostalgic sound, and a space where you can relax. I spent a leisurely moment waiting until the restaurant opened at 11:30. While I was on the terrace, a waiter appeared in a white shirt and a short black apron. He glanced at his watch, somehow like a gentlemanly White Rabbit. When that gentleman opened the big shutter windows, it was exactly 11:30, and the Wonderland-like restaurant opened. Stepping through the entrance, a looooong chain of paper tubes undulates in big waves, and you feel like you might get sucked in. Kind of like Alice slowly falling down the rabbit hole? The counter is made of winding paper tubes too. The ceiling over the table seats at the back has a honeycomb structure. True to the word "hive," it also has a reassuring warmth. A space I'd never seen before, Wonderland. You order at the counter, pay, receive a buzzer, and sit wherever you like. The wall inside the counter has that Ginza Sicilia classic, red gingham check. They say the atmosphere of a good old trattoria is preserved, but it's an otherworldly space. The view from the window is nice too; across the courtyard is a building that looks just like the character "問," with the "口" part wide open, giving it a great sense of openness. The big flower bed looks like a painting. I couldn't help exclaiming, "Ooh~". While I was wondering if a grinning Cheshire Cat or a Gryphon monster might be hiding somewhere on campus~, the buzzer went off. I picked up my tray at the counter. To the back left is the return counter, so it's kind of like a food court. But the staff are crisp, sharp gentlemen, and that's where it's still Ginza Sicilia, with stylish traces of a long-established restaurant. Today I ordered the A Lunch \1,000, pasta with soup, as basilico. I added a green salad with tomato \880. Considering that at the Ginza Sicilia main shop the pasta was \1,350 and the green salad \950 (the standard without tomato), this is a great deal. For students the pasta is \600, which is an unbelievable price! Truly Wonderland… oh right, this is inside the Shibaura Institute of Technology campus. The basilico is a classic pasta where the irresistible aroma of garlic butter goes perfectly with anchovies! And speaking of Ginza Sicilia, this green salad is the restaurant's specialty. With tomato on top at this price, I did a double take and ordered it on the spot. A dome of neatly arranged cucumber slices set off by red tomato, a truly beautiful dish. The flavor is just like the main shop. Looking around carefully, the interior is spacious, so strollers glide through easily. The windbreak at the entrance has space for kids' balance bikes, and there's a long table with basketballs on it. Thoughtful touches that make it very easy to use for families who come to play. I was impressed again—what a nice, community-rooted restaurant. A campus that blends into the town of Toyosu. Within it, an otherworldly Wonderland space fuses with beautiful, delicious food. Maybe it's because it was Saturday, but I got to leisurely enjoy an out-of-the-ordinary holiday moment. Thank you for the meal, Sicilia. On the way home on the Yurakucho Line, I'm completely back to reality… but I'll come again to jump down the rabbit hole toward Wonderland!

A restaurant inside a university that the general public can use too. The weekday lunch Napolitan is 850 yen at the general price. The photo is the large serving, +100 yen. It also comes with a cup of soup. Dogs 🐶 are OK on the terrace.
