The owners or chef were nice and friendly when I arrived. The food is delicious. I don’t speak Japanese and they don’t speak English. It was hard to order but they were extremely helpful. I didn’t see any travelers there. Everyone seems locals. I love the restaurant

I dropped by for lunch on a holiday. It feels like a typical Chinese restaurant. The inside was quite busy. I ate: - Cucumber and squid salad - Jellyfish - Gyoza - Yu Xiang Rou Si - Hot and sour noodles. The cucumber and squid salad has the texture of the cucumber and the plumpness of the squid with just the right amount of saltiness and spiciness, which makes the beer go down well. It was refreshing but filling, and a great snack. The jellyfish was firmer and plumper than I've ever had, and I was impressed, thinking, 'So this is authentic jellyfish...' (Of course, it was delicious). The Yu Xiang Rou Si was a flavor I'd never had before. Unlike Qingjiao Rou Si, it felt a bit spicy and ethnic, maybe with fish sauce? It's spicy but sweet. It goes well with rice and alcohol. I wonder if the hot and sour noodles have the acidity and sweetness of ketchup? It was a first-time taste for hot and sour noodles. Everything I ate was delicious! There are many other menu items, so I want to come back to eat again. I got information that the fried rice is delicious, so I'll try it next time!

Kiyosumi-Shirakawa is a popular town that gets very crowded on weekends, especially with young people, but since it's a residential area without a shopping street, there are surprisingly few places to eat casually. Even if there are, there are many stylish cafes and restaurants that are intimidating for an old guy like me... In that context, Taizan is a grateful shop where you can eat casually, 0 minutes walk from the station exit. It's authentic Chinese and a local Chinese restaurant rooted in the area. On this day, my companion and I had three dishes: stir-fried eggplant with miso, stir-fried shrimp and yam, and stir-fried wood ear mushroom and egg, plus drinks for just over 3000 yen. We were very satisfied to be full with this low price. It's a recommended Chinese diner with bright, attentive service and many local customers.

I went to 'Chinese Cuisine Taizan' in the Kiyosumi-Shirakawa area to enjoy authentic town Chinese food. This time I had the 'Mapo Tofu Set'✨ From the moment it was brought to me, the bright red visual and aroma stimulated my appetite. When you take a bite, while it has a solid spiciness, it's not just stimulating; the richness and umami are very intense! The thick Mapo Tofu is accented by the well-balanced flavor of sansho pepper, and before I knew it, it was so delicious that I wanted to shovel the rice into my mouth. The tofu is also large, so it's very filling◎ It has a good volume, so the lunch satisfaction is quite high! Furthermore, it's a nice point that it comes with soup and salad, so you can enjoy the old-fashioned 'set meal style'✨ The interior has a town Chinese atmosphere that feels nostalgic somewhere, and it's a calm space where you can feel that it's loved by locals. It's a highly recommended shop for 'days when you want to eat a hearty Chinese lunch' or 'days when you are looking for a menu that goes well with rice'. Please go and visit!
