A great family run business with a very 80s Japan vibe. Some of the best Katsu I've had. Very simple but freshly made. The owners were very friendly as well! No English menu but I just recommend getting the ro-su katsu teishoku (pork katsu set menu) as shown in the photo.

The interior has a Showa-era atmosphere. From outside, it looks as though there aren't many customers, but you can actually get some surprisingly tasty tonkatsu here. The thick cutlet and sauce are delicious. The sauce in particular seems to have some original touches; it's thin and has plenty of vegetable and fruit flavor. The tonkatsu comes with lemon, but I'd recommend not squeezing it on. It wipes out the sauce's delicate sweetness. The miso soup has a strong dried-sardine flavor and plenty of ingredients, with a home-cooked taste. Recommended as a casual tonkatsu place you can easily drop into.

A place you can comfortably visit alone, accessible by car I tried it because an acquaintance's family had raved about it. When I went for lunch, there was a notice saying it was their day off, so I called to check whether they were open and then headed over. I ordered rib loin, and since my friend had praised the loin katsu, I got that to take home as well. It took a little while to prepare, but it was incredibly delicious. Tastier and more generous than the places in Seijo or other famous katsu restaurants, and they told me I could take any leftovers home. On the way back, I secretly tried the loin katsu, and it was sweet, crispy, and delicious! Rice costs extra and comes topped with an umeboshi, which was a delight. The wife is fun to talk to. I'll be back!

A very satisfying restaurant that I'd like to visit again. I discovered it while out walking. Google reviews were divided, so I hesitated about going in, but I'm glad I did! Some reviews say the meat is thin, the coating is oily, or the lady isn't friendly... but my experience was the exact opposite. The meat was thick, the loin fat was slightly sweet, and it was good-quality pork (domestic white pork, as other reviews say). The coating was crispy, and the lady was very polite. It was so different from the reviews that I decided to write a little, even though I don't normally write reviews. At dinner, both the loin and tenderloin sets are 1,500円 (at lunch, the daily special is 800円 and the tonkatsu set is 920円). Compared with “和幸”, “さぼてん”, and “かつくら”, where I usually go, I think it's far better value. ※The above prices exclude tax The miso soup was delicious, too, with a well-made dashi. <Update: 2020.2.4 evening revisit> Still very delicious! The coating is crisp, and the meat is slightly pink and juicy. Among restaurants in the 1500円 (before tax) price range, this is my No.1 tonkatsu restaurant. The elderly lady serves you with a smile, making it a comfortable place as well. They say they now use white pork rather than black pork, but it tastes so good that I don't care. I especially recommend the loin. I'll be back! <Update: 2020.3.22 evening revisit> Back yet again. Still good-quality meat. Thank you for the meal. <Update: 2020.7.13 evening revisit> Since my last update, I've visited so many times I've lost count and become a regular. I've stopped going to other tonkatsu restaurants. The “リブロース(2,000円)” isn't on the regular menu. They fry a truly thick cut of a delicious part, so if you want plenty of juicy meat, definitely choose the rib loin. Thank you for today's meal, too. <Update: 2020.8.23 evening revisit> I returned now that the summer heat has eased (I walk here, so midsummer is tough). I'd like to eat it almost every week, so after about 2 weeks I start missing the flavor. Today we had rib loin (me) and tenderloin (my wife). The tenderloin is tender and delicious too, but when you want a hearty meal, rib loin is the way to go! Completely satisfied again today. Thank you for the meal.
