Located within the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum, Kura is a small handmade udon shop that blends seamlessly into the surrounding historic buildings. The structure itself is a relocated traditional storehouse-style building (kura), which adds to the feeling of stepping back in time while grabbing a meal. Ordering is done via a ticket machine, so it’s best to have some cash ready before lining up. The process is quick and straightforward, making it an easy stop during a museum visit. We went for the kakiage udon, which was simple but very satisfying. The broth was light yet flavorful, and the kakiage added a nice layer of texture along with a subtle shrimp umami that complemented the soup well. Inside, we even found a Totoro illustration signed by Hayao Miyazaki, which added a fun touch to the visit.

We were hungry after walking around the open air museum. We were lucky to find this Restaurant. It is located in one of the historical buildings of the museum. The food was good. Friendly staff. The raw cold egg was a surprise, but still ate it with my hot noodle soup.

this place serves tasty cold noodles which have a good bite to it. i also ordered kakiage that was well executed. the dipping sauce was nicely balanced. i’m giving 4 stars for the meal because i remember leaving slightly unsatisfied although all the food i ate was tasty and well done, i think it’s bc everything was mild and nothing stood out. (also no meat) beautiful location with a nice interior

Quite a bit better than the 3.7 stars would imply. Paid by vending machine with English menu on the walls. Relatively quick, hand pulled udon in hot or cold with tasty dipping sauce. The cold udon was excellent. Portions are small, but satiating - prices very reasonable. Iced coffee was a relief in this hot and humid weather. Second floor with elevator. Had an English server which was a pleasant surprise!

Nicely located cute little Udon eatery on the second floor of one of the buildings in the museum. The service was fast, there was no wait, the food was hot and reasonably priced. Would say it's a good option if you get hungry in the park. Taste was fairly run of the mill I'd say by Japan Udon standards. You pay for the convenience.
