A very easy to find hand-pulled ramen restaurant. There were many types of soup base. We ordered a spicy miso ramen and a soy sauce char siu ramen. Both soups were heavenly made. They were rich and tasty and had some pork fat in it. The pork slices are very tender and the thickness is right. The noodles absorbed the tasty soup. Other toppings are standard. It was a nice ramen experience.

I liked this ramen quite a bit due to the uniqueness of the broth and the homemade texture of the noodles. I dinned alone. 😞 which afforded me the time to focus on the ramen. This was the third time I visited, and the first time it wasn't brutally sold outside. Either way, after my last 2 visits eating at the counter while the door was opened repeatedly, I chose a seat closer to the back. You can see the entire kitchen from the counter seats. The experience was better away from the traffic for sure. The tobanjan was flavorful, not just heat, and their were the other usual condiments as well. Will repeat. I believe it is Cash only. Not overpriced for the quality of ramen you get.

It almost feels too soon to review this amazing place🙏🏼⚡. We just had one of the most magical ramen noodle experiences, ever. When you are traveling with two fairly adventurous teenage boys who really want to try ramen in Japan, and the only word you hear over and over again is, "W😳W," you know all is well! We ordered from the automatic ticket machine, which is in Japanese with no images of food selections, fear not, take a screenshot of the machine and use translate in your phone photos and it will translate everything for you. One of the very kind gentlemen came from behind the kitchen area to explain many incredible options to us as well. Soooo many choices🤩🥰! We ordered 3 medium bowls, all Shoyu broth, with pork, one with soft boiled egg, two with wonton, and one without wonton. Every bowl is beautifully and thoughtfully prepared, we were able to watch the chef from the counter seating. Seaweed, ginger, crunchy greens, kamaboko (aka, narutomaki) a delicious type of surimi (minced fish paste), handmade noodles😍😍😍, and a perfect broth! The portions are ample and very filling! The prices are unreal. Two growing teenage boys and one adult, ate comfortably for $23, total. Thankfully we are in Tokyo again in a couple of weeks, and will make the trip out to Kujira Shokudo again! Conveniently located directly under the Higashi-Koganei station on the Chuo line. ⚡🌿🌸😍

This place is conveniently located just outside the Higashi Koganei-Shi JR station. Like many ramen restaurants, the seating is pretty limited, musically just at the bar and six seats at a table. Fortunately the table is setup so that it can be used by more than one group. Like most ramen restaurants in Japan, you purchase your ramen ticket from a vending machine, then hand it to the shop attendant. The ramen was server petty quickly and it was very hot. The age-tama (egg) was perfectly cooked, as was the pork loin. The broth was very slightly oily, but not over powering. The flavor of the broth was very pleasant. The noodles were a bit unusual, sort of like western egg noodles, but thinner. They were actually very nice. As we were looking to have ramen before we left from Japan, I’m glad that this place was recommended.

Amazing ramen, visited it frequently when I lived in the area, and was one of my favorites among all the shops I’ve tried in Japan. The hand massaged noodles have an extremely unique texture and are just fun to eat and hold on well to the soup!! The broth is complex and flavorful, although I do really miss their 特製醤油つけ麺 (special shoyu tsukemen) which I had a few years back, didn’t find it this time around.
