A Yudetaro near Hanakoganei Station, at the intersection of Ome Kaido and Koganei Kaido. Besides the 6 parking spaces in front of the shop, there's more parking out back. First time I've seen a branch where you can use a transit IC card at the ticket machine. Super helpful. To get the coupon, I hurriedly had the mori soba for 430 yen at 15:15 on my way to work, and on my return visit the next morning I had the Asa-ra~ for 450 yen + coupon chikuwa tempura, and the natto breakfast for 500 yen + coupon curry sauce. With the curry sauce coupon, the natto breakfast levels up into chilled tanuki natto bukkake soba and onsen egg curry. Yudetaro really is at its strongest in the morning. I also got a coupon that's good until May, so I'm looking forward to coming again.

On this day I went to the Yudetaro in Hanakoganei, Kodaira City. They were serving their annual New Year's "Kaiun Soba," so I had that. The price is 760 yen. The toppings are shrimp tempura, fried mochi, bonito flakes, spinach, and nori. Quite a lively lineup. There was also a gift of fresh shichimi for the first 300 customers, and they were still handing it out, so I managed to get one. First, my impression of the soba: compared with what I ate at the Niiza and Mizuho branches, the soba at this Hanakoganei branch felt slightly thicker, with a firm texture. At the previous two branches, the soba was thinner and seemed better suited to cold dishes, but this time I think it's soba that holds its own even in hot kake broth. Among the toppings, the fried mochi did a surprisingly good job. The combo of shrimp tempura and fried mochi feels like a bit of a calorie overload, but the fried mochi alone is satisfying enough that the dish works without adding any other carbs. The fried items seem to be fried to order, so it took a little longer to be served, but they were well drained of oil, and in the end I enjoyed it. A bowl where you can feel proper work within its convenience.

The food is tasty, but even though I buy a ticket for the 1.5 serving ➕ large size, sometimes it comes out exactly as ordered, and other times I order the double serving and it comes as a 1.5 serving—this branch gets it wrong at a high rate. I don't know if the owner just doesn't care, but one or two mistakes is one thing; they mess up so many times that I'm getting fed up... Sometimes they even brush you off, so everyone please be careful.
