it's not a good feeling if you are the first time come there. Especially your friends take you to the restaurant, but the staff just talk to your friend and not chat with you anymore even you pay the bill.
View on GoogleVisited just after opening on Saturday, and the restaurant was almost full. I barely managed to get a seat. Beer and gyoza, plus chashu as a snack. The gyoza wrappers were chewy and delicious! The snack chashu was seared and topped with sauce—tasty! The beer kept flowing. I moved on to highballs too, then once I was pleasantly tipsy, ordered the shoyu ramen and half-portion fried rice set. The ramen had a light soy sauce flavor with a hint of dried sardines, and the half-portion fried rice had a punchy, peppery flavor! The fried rice was just my style and really delicious. Also, though there is no photo, my companion ordered liver stir-fried with garlic chives! The liver was very tender with no strong taste, and it was superb! Finished everything, completely satisfied! I'd like to go again. Thanks for the meal!
View on GoogleMy first visit was around 11:40 on a weekday. At that point there were 3 customers, including me. Water is self-service and available near the entrance. There were 2 staff members who appeared to handle cooking and serving. This time I ordered the shoyu ramen and half-portion fried rice set (1100円). The ramen had an easy-to-enjoy, nostalgic flavor and used thin, curly noodles. Although I thought the fried rice might be a little salty, I felt it went very well with the ramen. Apparently you can pay at your seat, so when I called, they came over.
View on GoogleThe ginger pork set meal at 1050円 had a straightforward seasoning and was delicious. We have reached an era when even set meals at neighborhood Chinese restaurants cost over 1000円 (December 2025) I ordered the cabbage stir-fried with ginger set meal. The seasoning was strong, but it was delicious. It is a neighborhood Chinese restaurant, but many regulars come here to drink (November 2025)
View on GoogleLooking for a lunch spot around Hanakoganei Station. After struggling to decide among various options, I realized I had been on a fried rice kick lately and settled on a neighborhood Chinese restaurant. It was a small place about a 3-minute walk along the railway from the station, seemingly run by a married couple for many years. The peak lunch period was over, and the only customer was a man having a daytime drink. Although tempted by the ramen + half-portion fried rice set, what I wanted was fried rice, so I decided to add a half-portion ramen to fried rice. Looking back, I regretted that perhaps adding half-portion ramen to the earlier set to make a half-and-half set might have prevented overeating. But the fried rice served was smaller than expected, just the right size to finish comfortably. So anyone wanting a hearty meal should order a large portion. The shoyu ramen was a classic light, clear-broth type, paired with relatively low-hydration thin noodles rarely seen at neighborhood Chinese restaurants. That explains why extra noodles are on the menu. The portion was also just right as soup alongside the fried rice. The all-important fried rice had exactly the ingredients and flavor you hope for! The slightly salty seasoning seemed likely to go well with beer. Needless to say, the grains were loose and crumbly. Ah, truly, deeply delicious. Since it was not a set, the bill was a little higher, at 1250円. Payment was possible with PayPay as well as cash. I rarely come all the way to Hanakoganei, but this was an excellent restaurant I would definitely recommend.
