This small museum, located within a renovated private residence, showcases the spirit of the times and the incredible craftsmanship of Japanese sculptors. Despite its size, it is definitely worth taking the time to visit and explore.
View on GoogleAlthough only a small museum, it was a fantastic place to visit! Some really cool statues, lots to look at, and lots of information available. There are audio guides available in Japanese and English, however we didn't get those so I cannot couch for their quality. I only saw one staff member, and she was very friendly. Overall a great experience, would recommend!
View on GoogleThis little museum is really out of the way, but located along the green belt of the Tamagawa Josui canal. The sculptor Hirakushi was apparently famous but his work is not really my taste. The preparatory sculptures in the basement were most interesting to me. However, his home and garden have been carefully preserved and make for an interesting visit.
View on GoogleNever knew Kodaira had such an interesting art museum. It is located at the sculptors house, so you get to tour his art exhibit and his traditional Japanese house. It is a very pleasant experience and well laid out.
View on GoogleHistorical art museum and there is a beautiful garden.
