Especially recommended for anyone who wants to wolf down white rice with delicious grilled fish. The lunch menu mainly consists of grilled fish set meals. They serve high-quality, fatty fish with excellent seasoning and grilling. The rice is delicious too. Several major restaurant chains offer grilled fish set meals, but 玄海 wins hands down on taste, quantity, and price. Prices range from 930円 for a salt-grilled mackerel set meal to 1490円 for grilled hokke. Considering what you get, that feels inexpensive. The mackerel is delicious too, with fat practically dripping from it. I also love gindara Saikyo-yaki. Ginshake and sawara Saikyo-yaki are good too. Salt-grilled kanpachi collar and grilled tai head are also delicious. The owner's eye for ingredients and cooking skills are amazing. Every visit leaves me feeling happy when I walk out. There are fried dishes too, such as mixed fry, kaki fry, and tonkatsu. Hungry people can request a large serving of rice or a refill, but these became chargeable about half a year ago (100円). Recently, the complimentary after-meal coffee has also become limited in quantity, so if it runs out, you just have to accept it. Given the times, that's understandable. The interior is reasonably clean. The floor staff's service is fine too. If I were to nitpick, it would only be that the tables are a little high (or the chairs low?) and the chopsticks are thin and feel flimsy. These aren't major problems. The evening menu is also very extensive, but it clearly makes you want to drink alcohol, and since I can only get there by car, I've hardly ever visited in the evening. Of course, set meals are available at night too, but the restaurant's signature offering is fugu dishes. I'd like to try them someday. I'll certainly keep visiting, so please keep up the good work.
View on GoogleThe mackerel lunch set was delicious! The seasoning is a little strong, so it really gets you eating rice. At night, it has an izakaya-like atmosphere, and it's interesting to find drinks such as hirezake that aren't easy to get nearby. Overall, it offers good value and made me want to visit again!
View on GoogleAfter looking it up and finding it has a reputation for delicious fish, I went for my first lunch! The grilled mackerel had just sold out😖💦 So I had ginshake Saikyo-yaki! It's delicious. I'll definitely be back❗️ You can enjoy it at night too. They also have good brands of fugu hirezake, sake, and shochu❗️
View on GoogleA restaurant focused on seafood dishes such as sashimi and fugu, but surprisingly, the tonkatsu is delicious too. It makes you feel that because their technique is solid, whatever they make will turn out properly delicious.
View on GoogleThe fish is delicious, and for lunch, I recommend the grilled fish and sashimi. My favorite is 玄海ちらし
