The dango at Maruichi is my fave compared to other dango places I've tried, and so I've come here many times! The texture has just the right firmness and chewiness, and are generously coated with toppings. They are very reasonably priced, and the shop opens early from 7am, which is very convenient. I also like their norimaki rolls, which have quite a few selection of fillings to choose from, are freshly made, and taste so much better than riceballs from the convenience store. Staff are always friendly. Lots of single-use plastic waste, unfortunately, when they package the food, but when I have it with me, they've been nice about letting me use my tupperware for dango. I'm not so keen on their daigaku-imo (candied sweet potato) or their okowa (sticky rice), a bit too greasy and heavy for me.
View on GoogleI'm a huge fan of kusa mochi and sushi rolls, so I stopped by. ・The sushi rolls are ordinary in a good way. They are delicious and feel reassuring to eat. For sushi, the rice seemed a little moist and soft. It seems good for elderly people. ・The kusa mochi exceeded my expectations. The mochi is soft, stretches well, and is moist!! Exactly the kind I like. (I don't like springy mochi) Delicious. Personally, I'd be happier with a little more yomogi, but I think it's well balanced for the price. The restrained amount of chunky red bean paste was good too. I'll visit again!!
View on GoogleI've known about this dango shop for over 10 years, but back then there was a dango shop from the same chain near our house. It always had a queue, but frankly, our family thought it tasted bad, so I assumed this chain shop would be the same and never went. The company I work for is in an area with few places to eat to begin with. I had pretty much exhausted the places I tried whenever I worked on a day off, so I thought I'd give this one a go and visited this dango shop for the first time. I bought tendon and kusa dango. I figured the tendon would be pretty sparse, so I bought dango too, but wow, sorry for not coming all this time🙇♀️ It's delicious! Both the tendon and kusa dango were genuinely good enough to serve to others. The tendon bento was packed with food too, so finishing the dango at 3 was a little tough😆 There are so many kinds of bento… Now I have something to look forward to buying again.
View on GoogleAn old-fashioned dango shop. Why are sushi rolls made by dango shops so delicious? Unlike those from other dango shops, 丸一's sushi rolls go easy on the vinegar and have softer rice, so I got the impression that perhaps they are aimed at elderly customers? The futomaki sells out quickly, so going early is your best bet. If you have time, it seems they can make more later. They also have several kinds of bento. (Shogayaki, tendon, mixed fry, and so on…) Students from nearby were buying them. The look of the yakisoba tempted me, and I couldn't resist buying some😅
View on GoogleFrom the dango in the shop's name to prepared side dishes, norimaki, and bento, I think most things are sold at low prices. The seasoning is just right too, and I can keep eating without getting tired of it, so I end up buying a little too much.
